"Aww, come on, why you gotta be like that?"

She shrugs. "Small town, and I'll respond to Kiera just fine."

Sigh. "Fine, whatever, already gave you my real name anyway. Not like it matters."

"Ivan's a nice name." Smile. "So when'd you die?"

"Hundred fifty years ago, give or take a decade."

"… Kay. Well, see you some other time, little busy right now, but feel free to chat some other time."

She waves and walks back the way she came.

The vampire watches her, bewildered, then shrugs and moves on.

And then after the vampire is mostly gone, Eva changes direction and starts walking to where she left Norma.

Who has been watching this quietly and just out of sight. "Well?"

"Apparently he's – vegetarian, or whatever," she says. "Plus he seemed at least slightly genuine and also I don't think I could've taken him without being taken out."

"Why not?"

"… I would have felt bad. And also he seemed like he'd snap and kill me pretty fast."

"You are the Slayer. You need to trust yourself and your instincts more."

"He –" Pause. "… I mean, should I go after him?"

"We have an apocalypse to avert. Perhaps another time."

Nearby vampires?

Nope.

… What about that one she just left.

Gone somewhere, out of range.

Well she suggests they move over a few streets, somewhere else hopefully not painted, see if there are more near there.

Nope, none.

… Next place?

No one.

… If that vampire was the one she was looking for, she is going to be extremely, extremely pissed.

She may never know.
