She goes for it one more time.

"No!" he cries—ow she landed a hit that one will hurt in the morning—

"I don't eat people—would you stop!" he snarls and clobbers her upside the jaw.

That dazes her, causes her to – well, stop, yes, and also try to get into a more defensive position.

She squints at him.

He glares at her.

"I don't eat people, what else do you want to know? Do you just randomly assault people in the middle of the street on the off-chance they eat people?"

"Quit with the bullshit, vampire."

"Fine, do you randomly assault vampires in the middle of the street on the off-chance they eat people?"

"No, because it's not an off-chance."

"Alright, fine, most vampires eat people, but I don't, okay?"

"… Know anything about a Master?"

"Crazy dude wants to end the world? Yeah, what about 'im?"

"Doesn't happen to have any convenient, like, super weaknesses? Perhaps?"

The vampire shrugs. "Why are you going after him? Should leave it to the—" Click. "You're the Slayer, aren't you?"

"Me? Nah, I'm just an innocent little girl." Pause. "You don't happen to know where any anthrophage vampires are, do you?"

"You're totally the Slayer," he accuses. "And that's not a word. It's 'anthropophage.' And anyway no I don't, I don't hang around those."

"To be honest, I'm pretty proud I came up with the word at all, seeing as how I do Latin not Greek, but 'kay." She rolls her eyes. "It'd be convenient if you all came with labels. 'Vegetarian: yay or nay'."

"Yeah, it would, then the fucking Slayer wouldn't just decide to punch you in the middle of the street."

"Ivan. You?"

"Kiera," she smiles. "Not the name I go by, but anyway."
