"Yeah," agrees Theo. "Maybe it's easier for him with magic, or something."

"I do magic, too, and I'm not eager to go after vampires."

"I didn't think you were as, uh, proficient." Pause. "Slash crazy, little bit."

"Excuse me, I am not crazy!"

"Lil' bit," she stage whispers.

Theo nods.

"Anyway, no, I'm not as good as him, but, you know. I'm gonna be, one day."

"Hopefully with very little soul sacrifice required."

"Yeah, that."

"When I become a better witch I'm not gonna need that anymore."

"What are you gonna be using instead? Or just, like, momentum or whatever?"

"My own magic."

"The demon thing? Or do you generate it if you're a powerful witch?"

"You generate magic the more magic you do. Problem with that is that all magic is fueled by something, needs a sacrifice, and until you have your own magic, you have to sacrifice something else."

"I'm guessing you'll still need the occasional sacrifice to power higher-tier spells?"
