Eva dodges anyway and then tries staking it.

(She still has a light! This is part of the reason she used it, probably more advantage than disadvantage!)

She misses the heart.

Norma trips the vampire, though, and steps on its head while it's down.

Retry!

Poof.

"We should definitely go."

"Yeah," she agrees, and then ahead she goes to lead the way.

It starts getting less dark again...

...and two more vampires.

"What do we have here? Fresh meat."

"Did you seriously make that joke," Norma sighs, spraying more holy water.

Evelyn also sprays some holy water, and gets into more of a fighting stance.

The two vampires were clearly not expecting to be fought. They take a second to get their bearings, and during that second Norma has partially pinned one of them against a wall.

Does that one want to be stabbed then, because reducing the numbers would be nice.

Stabbity stab.

Its friend decides it's outmatched and tries to run.

Well vampires are pretty fast so it might get away but Eva is gonna spray it and see if she can catch it quickly.

Nah it's gone.

Ugh – well, back to Norma, make sure she's okay.

She is, and soon catches up.

Onwards they go, and out the mausoleum.

And no vampires lurking in dark, shaded corners?

Nope. And it is near lunch time anyway.

"This was a significant waste of time."

"Yes," agrees Eva, sighing. "At least we know there's some underground thing there, including vampires, but, yeah."

"This is probably not the only exit, but... we could cover it with crosses."

"The invisible kind with the varnish?"

"Yes."

"Sounds like a plan."

Crosses!

Crosses! And then back to school.

"Back to class for me? Or rather, to class."

"Probably, yes. Lunch starts in five minutes."

She pauses and checks the time on her phone. "So it does! … So are we just, sort of, hoping we stumble across something tonight?"
