Anders reads from the book, casting happy, knowing glances at his kids. "Primal class comprises the elements: fire, ice, lightning, earth. It is the class that causes the most destruction."
"Bah!" Varric growls, good naturedly. "You all live on my good will."
"And your access to the good Brandy. Corff doesn't even look at me anymore."
"Consider paying your tab off more than once every three months or so, Rivaini."
"You certainly earn enough from Wicked Grace night to do so," Talia notes.
"Beset on all sides! And I can't even glow," Isabela pouts, slumping onto Fenris.
"Another round, anyone? Of drinks, not cards, I've already lost my weekly gambling budget."
"Not that this hasn't been thrilling, but we should probably head home." He claps Ilska's shoulder.
"You should all come more often," Talia comments. "It was nice to have you here, Anders. And you, Ilska."
"Oh, we'll see about that. Can't have Ilska cleaning you out every week."
"Mmm. Yeah. I suppose I should." Raeli waves to the others as she gets to her feet to leave.
Anders waved goodbye to the group, and wrapped an arm around Ilska. "I'm sorry. Fenris doesn't usually get into the anti-mage diatribe till later in the night."
"Yes. His master experimented on him, hence the glowing. Put lyrium under his skin like a personal power source."
Anders' jaw hardens. "Doesn't matter how I feel about Fenris personally, if I ever see the man who did that to him, Justice will have few words."
"Don't worry too much. I think he expects a fight most days. And for every moment he doesn't listen, the Hawke's will set him right."
"The Hawkes are good at keeping peace. Talia often complains that she didn't sign up for this, but she's always there when we need her."
"I think you'll find none of us signed up for this. Well. Except maybe you, Rae."
"Hey. I wouldn't have it any other way."
She skips slightly ahead, smiling back at them.
"Also. You definitely signed up, Anders."
"Oh, I can definitely declare mine as charity work! It was barely voluntary!" He laughs.
