When Sasha is walking home from school, he stumbles across the smallest and most adorable dog in the world.
Leo relaxes and flops on the bed like he does not, in fact, have a skeleton. He mumbles something that might be "love you."
"Love you." He curls around Leo and puts his head on Marlo's shoulder. "I have the best hottest boyfriends."
Instead of trying to come up with words he puts a hand on the back of Sasha's head and presses closer to Leo.
Language is for people who don't have anyone to snuggle, and also for people who are awake.
Leo sort of wonders what Sasha's parents think about their son falling asleep cuddling naked with two men, but he is too happy to really think about it much.
They would not be super thrilled about that but not nearly as un-thrilled as Marlo's parents would be, which is why they're here and not at Marlo's house.
He's gotten quite a bit of sleep in the last day and a half; he's awake again and reading quietly in bed before very long.
Leo is curled up to him and also reading. He occasionally asks questions like "what's a president?"
He can explain what a president is and other questions that may come up while Leo is reading, although he's a little concerned about how much attention Leo hasn't been paying in American History.
There is a LOT of stuff going on in American history, okay. They are NOT explaining this from first principles.
Eventually they may hear a familiar voice say, "But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Sash--iet? is the sun. --I really should have thought this one through better."
He gets up and opens the window.
"I'd say to use my full name but Aleksander doesn't scan either. What's up?"
"I noticed you were feeling better and I wanted to ask how that happened! And also to propose that I attempt to convince you to let me drink your blood, and then you refuse, and then fuck me."
"Marlo figured out shapeshifting and unicorn healing is incredible. Also, we both already know what the answer is going to be, but โ" he tilts his head to show off his jugular โ "feel free to try."
"I'm going to go read in the other room," Leo says, with his eyes closed.
"It feels really good, you know. I'm not sure how much you remember from last time but it's better than sex. Or heroin. I'd believe it's better than sex on heroin but that I haven't personally tried."
"Sorry, Leo, see you," and then he turns back to Asher and says, "Is that so?"
"Yep. You made such cute little protesting noises when I stopped so you wouldn't die."
"Instead of me telling you more, you could let me have a little taste, and then you'd know."
"As I recall it feels-- overwhelmingly good, it's the first taste of food when you're hungry and orgasms after you've been edging for a week and the thing where something hurts so much that you can't process it except instead of pain it's pleasure."
