Scott has just finished up a day at school and is looking for a quiet afternoon on the rez.
Quil is trying to argue with Embry about some dumb show they're watching, and he just listens, trying not to laugh.
He sips his soda.
Scott walks about the grounds, cataloguing all the places he can fit plants.
He can't tell the soil quality just by looking, but there are some plants already, which makes things easier.
Fernanda doesn't know much about plants she reads, floating in the air nearby, while naked.
But Scott certainly won't find that distracting, right?
He is only a little distracted.
He starts talking about flowers. This one blooms early, which is nice if the days take a while to get longer, and this one has the most amazing smell, and this one is beautiful- in an obnoxious, spiky sort of way? Maybe that's just him.
Fernanda listens, and offers her opinions. She makes a couple of corrections on plants that look familiar but are literally from another planet and identifies a shrub that can be used to make tea.
Fernanda isn't particularly feeling like drinking tea, she was just sharing information.
"I'm okay. It's just lonely without them. Maybe I should just meet new people."
"What's the story you gave everyone else? People must be wondering about the new world."
"We are not hiding, but haven't really announced publicly yet. I bet people would be curious, but they won't bother us here."
"Ah, a lot. They're public known but not necessarily easy to travel to. Your Earth makes it the sixth known world annexed to Elsewhere, not including Elsewhere itself. I was born in Brazil - my Earth - but my parents and ancestors are from Elan."
"Brazil wasn't bad, but I don't miss it very much? My experience was heavily biased by my parents relative-quirkiness due to the fact they are originally from another world."
