There are many gods of Osirion which are Unknown in Cheliax, being Forbidden by the Thrunes. Chief among the gods of Osirion is Abadar, Who blesses the Archcleric Shawil; but there are many other Righteous Gods of which far less is known in this Country. Among the righteous gods of Osirion is Naimah, whose Archcleric was among the Heroic Adventurers who Liberated Cheliax.
The goddess Naimah is the Lawful and Good Goddess of Healing, among whose Followers number the Sick and Injured, and those who Treat and Care for them. She commands Her followers never to Forsake the Sick and Injured, even at risk of Disease; never to deal Grave Injury to another; and never to Spread Disease or Violate a Quarantine. Her Symbol is a Wooden Toad, which represents the Healing Powers that such Creatures are Blessed with.
Her Clerics are gifted with Marvelous Healing, which permits them to heal an entire City of men in a Single Day. It is said that Her Archcleric has the ability not only to heal Injury and Illness, but even to restore Lost Limbs. Many among her Clerics have been granted other Extraordinary Gifts as well. Among these gifts are the ability to perform a Healing Channel for men within a Hundred Paces, the ability to Converse with Healing Implements as freely as if they were People, and the ability to Cure men afflicted with all kinds of Madness.
The Miracles of Naimah are also Great in Number. I have heard of a Town in Varisia where all men had been Struck Blind by a dreadful Curse; but when a man of that Town prayed to Naimah for Healing, every person had their Sight Restored. I have heard also that in Osirion, her Holy Country, she has Banished Plague entirely, and that any struck ill by it need only Pray to her and find themselves Cured at once. I myself prayed to Naimah when my Youngest Daughter fell Gravely Ill, though I am not of Osirion, and the next day my Daughter had been Cured Entirely.
Naimah is a Merciful goddess, Who does not demand strict Obedience nor Human Sacrifice nor any other Great Trial. She hears even Simple prayers, so long as the prayer is for Healing, and does not Spurn those who seek her Aid. She asks only that we return her Favor by tending to the Sick and Injured.
