"A spell?"

"All right. OK. Back to the nightmares. You remember what we were talking about, with the nightmares, how there were weird things we should have noticed?"

"Yes."

"OK. Does it not strike you as super super weird that I, an unmarried Catholic girl who - " she glances at Ryan. Who, uh, experiences excruciating pain from having sex. "Does it not strike you as really weird that I have a baby?"

"It - wait a second -"

Did I tell you earlier that I was surprised by something?

He examines the papers on his desk. Not that I recall but there's a note here... indicating that you were confused that Karen gave herself a head injury and that you had a weapon with her while she was giving birth.

"Huh, those are different. I'm not confused that you had a baby since in humans that can happen by accident but I was confused that I had a sword when you had your baby, apparently. And I was confused by how you injured your head - but wait, we figured that out, we had an answer to that one -"

" - I mean, it can happen by accident if you have sex, which is - an objectively really weird thing for me to decide to do? - and yes, I injured my head while I was doing the spell to seal Melkor away."

"To seal Melkor away? There's a spell that does that?"

"Yes!"

"That's a big deal - it could end the war."

" - yes. This is why I agreed to do it."

He gestures for a quill and parchment and writes things.

" - what were you saying?"

"That I hit my head while doing the spell to seal Melkor away."

- Karen hit her head while doing the spell to seal Melkor away 

"Why didn't you tell us you were doing a spell to seal Melkor away?"

"I did. - or rather, I remember telling you, I remember discussing it kind of constantly over the course of the past ten months. You seem to not remember this. Honestly I'm siding with me here because you seem very - short-term-memory-loss-y."

"OK. Yes. Cool. - I don't immediately know what to do about this."

He rewrites his list.

"Head injury is not a confusion, the head injury is because Karen hit her head while doing the spell to seal Melkor away. Why Karen had the baby." He writes it down. "Why Karen isn't married to the father of the baby."

"I said I'd fix that." 

"Yes but it's still on the list of confusions because we don't know in what state of information we wrote them down. Why Wishbone was in the room when Karen gave birth - do you know that one, Wishbone? Why I had a sword - it's not actually that odd I had a sword, I usually do..."

I was worried? I remember being worried.
