There aren't that many things he wants in this world.
What he really wants, above all else, is his family back.
So he asks.
"My uncle has been catatonic for nearly five years. Can you help him?"
"The alpha is probably faster and stronger than we think. How good is your reaction time?"
"We would use a portal that would open when the Alpha is too close to dodge. Reaction time isn't relevant."
"Neat trick. Are you sure this isn't something I can learn?"
"Yes. Anyway, that was just one idea. I am entirely open to others."
"We should go back to the others, figure out who's been hurt, how bad it is..."
He takes Kato's hand.
"No, the portals are a good idea, I just want to make sure we don't miss anything. What happens if it's 'too close to dodge', but it drags someone else in? Or maybe it can't dodge, but the portal just doesn't work on alphas? We need a couple of backup plans."
"We can test to see if it works on werewolves or not. Even if it doesn't, it sounds unlikely it can't work on alphas-as-a-subcategory-of-living-beings. If the alpha is holding someone then they will be in fact dragged. And in fact we should brainstorm."
"The alpha kills people, my twin thinks we should use a portal to trap him. We're working out the kinks."
"Should we work on trying to find some non-obvious connection? Werewolves probably don't usually choose who to kill like this, right? I thought they were either fully controlled or violent, not...serial killers. Derek might know, but we can't ask him."
"I would expect a non-controlled werewolf to cause more mayhem than this. What sort of non-obvious connection, Scott?"
"I don't know. Maybe I can smell something, maybe they all use the same soap, or something?"
"No, if this is a serial killer we're looking for what people like. Are they all the same height, body shape, fashion sense...which they aren't, so it's not a serial killer. Maybe we should be thinking mob boss?"
"The Alpha killed at least one person the night he called me to him. I don't know how we can be sure about these, but they still look like animal attacks, right?"
"They are animal attacks according to whom? I would guess someone looking into it would just see the bites and claw marks and think animal without analyzing them for intent."
"Right. We know better. But hunters have guns, not claws. If hunters are involved, they're not the only ones killing, here."
"I don't know how to check. If that's it, it would make sense, werewolves hate hunters."
"I can ask the Argents if any of their friends are dead."
