To, her Majesty Catherine Marianne Euphemia Aspexia de Litran, Queen of Cheliax.

I am Panya, a priest of Sarenrae Everlight Dawnflower Flame of Grace. The letter attached is delivered on behalf of a prisoner from your lesser dungeons. By what my mortal judgement can discern, his repentance is genuine and his request is for the sake of grace not worldly gain. Sarenrae smiles upon those who show mercy to the penitent, especially on this holy day.

To, her Majesty Catherine Marianne Euphemia Aspexia de Litran, Queen of Cheliax, Protector of Sargava and Isger, Defender of Civilization.

Firstly I give thanks for the magnanimity and mercy given in my sentencing, that a wretched lawbreaker such as I may be spared hell or the final blade. Wholly I repent of my crimes of the pen, copying without heeding your decrees. While my trespass against Law may bar me Heaven, I have been counseled by a Good priest of Sarenrae to seek her Nirvana which is open even to criminals such as I. This petition is a humble request to be put to the use of Good.

My skills of copying using the cantrip Scriveners Chant, the misuse of which I am rightly imprisoned for, I seek to redeem. I, and other cantrip wizards in the same circumstance, currently languish, rightfully imprisoned but of no use to anyone. I humbly ask that instead I, and any others imprisoned here who seek redemption, may use this skill for the cause of Good and the Crown, by copying decrees and other public documents. Surely this will save some of the coin being spent for our food and water. A trusted official will need to verify that the copies are accurate, but even with this additional step, the benefits seem to outweigh the costs.

In humble submission to Good and to the crown,

Áxel Gal, a repentant copyist.
