She is sitting in the library, studying. It's her most common pastime, by hours; spending time with her sister is more enjoyable but Jaromira prefers to socialize more broadly and Katarzyna would only get in the way. This is better on net; the two of them share a room, so it isn't as though her sister's time is entirely hogged by the other girls who call this boarding school "home." Or at least "prison." Katarzyna doesn't mind it, though; the school library is excellent, and basic manners and care for the books has endeared her to the librarian to a sufficient degree to lubricate the interlibrary loans process when there's something she wants to read that they don't have.

"Grow plants," says Alexis. "And like... topiary."
"Topiary like you can make bushes grow in certain ways or like you can trim them with your power?"
"Uh, like this." She holds her hand a few inches above a patch of grass. The grass braids itself slowly together.
"Like I could also do the other stuff but that's not what I meant."
"Yes, I see now...hmm. Faith, can you tell with your power if something is default size or not?"
"Yeah," says Faith.
"What?" asks Alexis.
"I want to see if I can make plants do anything you couldn't by combining my copy of your power with my copy of Faith's power, while still leaving it feeling like it's the default size."
"Uh, do I need to do anything?"
"Okay. If it's not gonna hurt my power or anything." She bends down one of her ears to groom it; it seems to be more of a fidget than anything else.
"It won't," she assures her.
Now...if she copies Alexis and Faith at the same time, are there any obvious ways to put them together interestingly?
She could make a plant bigger, but not as well as either of them alone since she takes an oomph reduction in the translation. She could move a plant around in ways that involved it getting smaller, which neither of them could do per se.
Hmm.
Can she try to make something smaller, but in a grow-y way? ...Apparently not.
Are there any flowers growing nearby?
Some dandelions.
Can she shrink the dandelion and make it tie its stem in a knot near the base tightly enough that it pinches itself off when it returns to normal size?
No, the knot grows with the rest of it.
She can still use Faith's power on it but Alexis's loses interest.
Huh, interesting.
She finds a cluster of still-living dandelions. Can she make them change color?
Not very well. Alexis could do it but it's one of the more advanced uses of her magic and Katarzyna can barely make them get a little brown.
