"...Yeah, that's fair."

"Anything else you'd like to ask?  Before we leave so Deskyl can rest."

"Is there anything I should be working on with the magic? Is it safe to do while you aren't here? I did get an error message when you noticed something was wrong."

"...If you're careful of your limits, it should be fine - I expect you can mind the risks.  Don't try anything really complicated just yet?"

"Yes ma'am."

"...Normally I'd say no, myself, but nothing about this is a situation I know enough about to pass judgement on.  If Her Highness thinks it'll be fine...It probably will.  But - magic is kind of like a muscle.  It gets better with exercise, and I don't think that's different.  ...Is it different here, your highness?"

"...It should be fine to work your way up the power scale a bit as long as you don't try to rush it, DZ.  Not that you would.  But it's still...a good idea to mention."

"Can you describe what you mean by rushing it, please?"

"Well.  Pushing your power past the point your drivers start to warn?  I'd say - no more than 10% increases or one unit increases, and you wait until the warning stops before escalating."

"That won't be a problem, yes ma'am."

"Then you should be fine.  ...I think it might've been dealing with gravity that was ultimately your spell load problem, earlier.  Incidentally.  So maybe try moving things around while they're on the desk, or something, first."

"Yes ma'am."

"...Right.  And - you know how to get in touch with me if you have questions."

She'll just.  Be going now?  She supposes?  Send help she doesn't know how to exit this conversation.

DZ doesn't have specific programming for interpreting and reacting to social awkwardness, but she and her sister droids have attended enough engineering conferences to pick up a few things, and practical skills survive a standard memory wipe perfectly well. "Yes ma'am. Thank you for your help." She opens the door to let Alicia and Maria out.

Oh thank goodness.

"Right.  Anytime."

"...I mean probably not literally any time but, uh - yeah - anyway, I've got - stuff to work on - so - I'll just be going now - thank you?"

Auuuugh.  Why is she like this.

...But she has in fact exited the door!  That's progress!  Right?

...Oh thank goodness the threshold effect is helping for once instead of making her forget what she wants to be doing.  She has a lightsaber to make.  Or, plan, at least, and is it even a lightsaber if it's not a plasma blade?  ...Huh, come to think of it, she's pretty sure plasma is chemically impossible.  ...And anyway there's also magic to think about.

"...I'll have the laundry send up some weather-appropriate clothes, by the way.  Pretty sure Her Highness has already gotten lost in her head again."

"Thank you, ma'am. Master Deskyl strongly prefers black, for clothing, but red and dark grey are also acceptable, or failing that any color but white or blue."

"I'll let them know."

"Thank you, ma'am."

"It's no trouble, really.  Service staff solidarity, mhm?

"...I'd best go let the Duchess know Her Highness is going to be working on a Project again, but the clothes should be up by shift end.  We can also get you a sewing kit if you'd like one.  Er.  Either of you, I mean.  I don't know if you have the skills yourselves, but we do have some people who could help out if you need."

"Neither of us sews but master Deskyl embroiders and might appreciate having supplies available for it. And I'd like to learn, if you expect it to be useful for me to know how."

"It certainly can't hurt."

"Yes ma'am. I'm available anytime master Deskyl doesn't need me."

"I'll let the laundry know you'd like to learn.  I'm no seamstress."

"Thank you, ma'am."

She will also tell the laundry that DZ coming to them and deciding to learn is a better outcome than them sending someone to teach DZ, but she's not going to mention that to DZ.

And with all that settled, she heads back to the manor proper herself.
