The first man goes down howling, the second taking advantage of Ilska's focus to strike.

Ilska's already turning to face him, and doesn't try to avoid the strike. (Remembers too late that she's still wearing Anders jacket, and a tiny voice in her head adds it to the tally of debts she owes.)

The sword slices into her arm, but her other hand holds the knife, and she's striking towards his face with that.

He goes down with a cry, clutching his face.

Anders heard the first man scream, and a flare of blue energy ripped through his body. It made him feel stronger. He now uses that to trap the man he’s fighting in a cage of pure spirit energy, and races around the ice wall, melting it with a tap of his staff.

“Ilska!” He cries, ignoring the man she just wounded. He skids to a stop in front of her, then drops to his knees to inspect her wound. “Bloody slavers and their filthy weapons,” he mutters, hands going to his belt so he can disinfect her wound.

She skitters away immediately, shoulders closing in on herself, angling her arm (and the ruined sleeve) away from Anders.

-And Cia is lunging at Anders, practically tackling him, wrapping eir arms around him and clinging.

“Oof!” Anders can barely keep himself upright, his body nearly toppling under Cia. He’s about to check that ey wasn’t injured somehow, when eir arms tighten around him and he’s shocked to find that ey’s hugging him.

After a moment of confusion, warm fondness floods over him and he chuckles a little bit. “Hey to you too,” he says, wrapping his arms around em in turn. He blinks away a few lonely tears, his heart aching now he remembers how nice being held is.

"You-" ey starts, and then just clings a little tighter. "Hey. I hate Templars."

“Scum,” Anders agrees, stroking eir back soothingly. Or at least, he hopes so. “Do you think I could try healing Ilska now? You don’t have to let go. I won’t.”

Ey relaxes a little against him. "Ilska?" eir voice is calmer.

Ilska shifts slightly closer, but is still keeping her injured arm angled away from Anders.

Anders tries to see what she's hiding. "What's wrong? I can promise, I've seen most wounds before, nothing will shock me."

Cia shifts slightly, reaches for Ilska.

Ilska turns so Anders can see her arm. The jacket sleeve has a ragged tear in it, and the edges are sodden in blood from the cut underneath. She's shaking slightly.

Anders shows Ilska the bottle he's holding. "I'm going to pour this over your wound. It'll sting a little. Is that okay?"

She stares at him, blinking, slightly confused. Shrugs, nods.

Anders reaches around Cia, and tears the hole in Ilska's (his? he doesn't remember) jacket, and then carefully pours disinfectant around the wound.

She flinches when he tears the hole wider, but not when he pours the disinfectant over the wound. That probably means something.

It probably does, and Anders means to ask Cia once this is over.

"All right, I'm going to start healing now." His hands glow blue as they hover over the wound, and it begins to close.

Ilska holds still as he does.

Cia pays the same amount of attention as ey has to any kind of healing.

Anders explains as he heals, rubbing Cia's back with his spare hand.

Once he's done, he looks over to the elf children. "We're going to need to find them somewhere safe," he murmurs to his- ...to Cia and Ilska.

Cia nods. "I- is there an Alienage? Would that work?"

"Excellent idea, Cia," Anders says, smiling at em. "We'll, ah, need to get up to help them."

Ey's still for a moment, and then gets up from on top of him, looking a little sheepish.
