Edie was perusing the latest correspondence from her fork. She still should have been paying enough attention to realize that the door didn't go where it ought before it swung shut and she couldn't sense anyone else anymore, but she wasn't.
After opening and closing the door a couple times to make sure she hadn't just been abducted somehow, she looks around.
I don't mind coming down here when there's stuff happening. But I'd rather hang out somewhere where we own the door when everyone's supposed to be relaxing.

"We need a fairy," he grumbles. "Okay, we can wait until she wakes up."
"If you could actually hold all the surrounding air still around her you might not wake her up."
"My world doesn't have summoning but in general if you're thinking about daeva and your question is 'the fuck, that counts?' as an application of their abilities, yep, yep it does."
"Playing arbitrary music by vibrating the air? Silencing things by stopping all vibrations emanating from a source? Cryokinesis and pyrokinesis by moving molecules to make them go faster or slower? Preventing a planet from blowing up by refusing to allow things that are trying to explode to move away from each other?"
"Never heard of a fairy playing music with telekinesis, silencing yes, cryo and pyrokinesis yes, they don't have the range to hold a planet together but could probably handle a small moon."
"Could several fairies coordinated telepathically handle a planet?"
"An Earth-sized planet would be a lot of telepathically coordinated fairies but in principle yes."
"I think the range of a fairy is on the order of three hundred miles? So we're talking about several thousand fairies, and if any make a mistake - but I suppose they could practice on duplicates of the planet first..."
"I think there's also some 'catch up to modern engineering' files in there."
"You'd have an edge because of the mastery of the fundamental forces of the universe. Any sense of what you want to be doing?"
