"He's mostly wearing styles conventionally reserved for the King, and as long as he constrains himself to those there is plenty of hairstyle space but none that will read to an Elf as 'in charge here'."

"I could design you a crown. I have been told that I have Elf-tolerable aesthetics at least for architecture."

I am trying not to develop an aversion to anyone ever addressing me by title but that might also be a problem."

"Make one up? Or go conspicuously informal as countersignaling."

"What ended up happening at home was that I told everyone to call me Maitimo and yet people noticed that I found courtesies flattering and went with more extravagant ones the more appropriate it would have been for them to just use my name. It'll be hard to reverse without explaining why but I guess I could just explain why."
