Valia is so tired. She wants to eat some thing as she's failed to all day and then go to bed. 

She does not want to impose on the Church, but her alternative is to...wander out into the streets? And probably that is stupid, tempting as it is. She does not mean to inconvenience the church ever again. She just - she just wants to wander outside to prove to herself that she is alive, and free.

And no one is in fact around to be inconvenienced. The man Blai pointed to was busy with someone else.

Just a little wander, then, just to feel fresh air on her face and look around a unfamiliar place and notice that she is alive. She is not forgiven and nothing is repaired and - the story isn't over, because she is alive. She stands there, trembling, not crying only because she is Chelish, looking out at the sky.
