"Okay. I eat food, I am no hungry, food is good. I no want bad, I want good. I want learn, I want kobold good."

She was actually showing facial expressions for a minute there! And now she's not again. "Kobold no good teach speak."

"Kobold no want teach, I no want learn!"

"If I am hungry, I eat food. If you eat food, you are no hungry. If you no want teach amarinen, I no want learn amarinen. If you want learn English, I teach English." 

"English good. Amarinen no good. I kobold, I am no good teach amarinen. If you want speak kobold, teach English. I am good learn."

"If I speak English, I speak English words. 'Food' and 'water' and 'good' are English words. 'Amarinen' and 'ilya' are amarinen words." 

Nod. "Words."

"I want food, I want teach, I want water. I want food and teach and water. I want learn, I want teach, I want learn or teach. You learn, I teach or you teach, I learn."

"And, or. Food and water, kobold or Scott."

"Scott is human. Dr. Deaton is human. Kobold is kobold?" 

Nod. "Kobold is kobold."

"I am human. Dr. Deaton is human. We are not kobold, we are human. You are kobold. You learn English, I teach English. We learn or teach English." 

"Mm. I learn." Kobold: sad.

"If I am hungry, I need food. I want learn or I no want learn amarinen. You need learn English or teach amarinen, so I teach English and you learn." 

"Mm."

"I no need learn. You no need teach. If you no want teach, I no want learn."

He pauses, thinking. 

"If I teach English, and you learn English, you understand English. If I say English word and you learn English, you understand word. If I say I am hungry, you understand I want food." 

Nod. "I understand."

"If you understand me, and if I understand you, we understand." 

"Mmhmm. I understand." And she rolls back over to face away from him.

Oh no.

Okay.

"If you need, speak me."

He heads outside.

And she curls up into a tight ball under the sheet and stays there.

He returns a few minutes later.

"I need you and me go."

He demonstrates by walking out the door, and back in.

She waits for him to stop moving, teleports to the floor by the door - sheet and all - and then stands, draping it over her shoulders. "Okay."

He leads her to his motorcycle.

He puts on his helmet, and hands the other one to her.

He's not sure if it'll fit, or even have the same value. He offers it anyway.
