It isn't long before the five of them have moved their bags inside and found their places on the sofa. Amy is sitting on the right armrest, checking for signal once again.
Natsuki catches her. "No, oh god no, Amy, please don't die on me." She begs.
"I'm fine." She chokes out.
Natsuki's gaze travels back to the Son, and her terror sharpens into something harder. She lunges for the knife.
He ignores Natsuki and moves in for the kill.
Amy finds the strength to roll out of the way.
Natsuki grabs the knife and straightens up, her eyes meeting Amy's. She nods.
Amy nods back. She forces herself to stand up, gritting her teeth against the pain, and waits for the Son to make a move.
He slowly advances, knives held ready.
Natsuki jumps at him, shoving him into the wall.
He shoves her off, but stumbles.
A stumble was all she needed. Amy takes advantage of his momentary distraction by wrapping her arms around him and tilting his head back to expose his neck.
Natsuki slits his throat in one move. It's more difficult than she had anticipated- is human flesh really that hard to cut?- but she manages.
He crumples to the ground.
Her job done, Amy slumps back to the ground. There is a growing red stain on the front of her shirt and it's not the Son's blood. "Fuck."
Natsuki kneels down next to her. "Are you okay? Oh my god he stabbed you."
"I'll be fine." Amy repeats.
Natsuki accepts that for now. "We just killed someone." She realizes.
"Thanks." She whispers. "...for everything."
Natsuki is silent for a few moments, and then she leans closer.
Amy is very pleased with this turn of events. It is, without a doubt, the least terrible turn this night has taken. Her lips meet Natsuki's.
Natsuki ends the kiss after only a few seconds. "I'm really glad I met you." She admitted. "If I'm gonna be fighting for my life, there's no one I'd rather be with."
"You wanna go out sometime? When all this is over?"
"Yeah. Just stay with me, okay? We can deal with what's out there, I just need you to not die on me."
