Amy Pond wakes up to the sound of a car horn. She groans, shoves the blankets off of her, and sits up. It's a Saturday morning, the first day of spring break, and she wants nothing more than to sleep all day. Unfortunately, her friends have other plans.
Moira is standing at the top of the stairs, holding her bag. Hair hair is messily braided and her sweatshirt at least two sizes too big, but she is ten times more ready than Amy. "Did you just wake up?"
"Fuck you." Amy tries to glare, but isn't quite awake enough to manage. "They here?"
"Outside. Got all your stuff?" Moira hides a laugh at her sister's attempted rudeness.
"Yeah, let's just go already. I'll sleep in the car." She sighs, grabbing her bags from the doorway of her room and stepping towards the stairs.
At that moment, they are very likely to hear a loud pounding on the front door. Mickey is outside, pointedly ignoring the doorbell as he knocks as hard as he can. "You awake? Hurry up and get out here!" He calls.
Amy rolls her eyes and continues down the stairs, not speeding up at all. When she reaches the door, she makes a very rude gesture through the glass.
Moira is right behind her and opens the door with an amused, and somewhat apologetic, smile.
"Yeah, yeah. Fuck you too." He greets them pleasantly. "I'm freezing my ass off out here, so if you could move things along that'd be much appreciated."
"Mickey, it's like 60 degrees." Moira points out, stepping outside.
"His ass would freeze even if it was 100, haven't you realized that by now?" Amy jokes, following them outside.
"Pfff. No. Once it's above 90, that's when his skin starts melting." She corrects, recalling several times he had in fact used that exact complaint.
"I'm right here, I can hear you!" He grumbles lightheartedly.
"Yeah but his ass doesn't stop freezing, it's just that he's melting at the same time. Like a bonus."
"True. It's like magic!"
They make their way to the car, a large and beat up old jeep. Inside are a few more faces the girls may recognize.
"Hey." Eric greets them. He's the one sitting behind the wheel. He knows Amy and Moira from classes, and Mickey is his roommate.
"Hi!" Natsuki chirps. Unlike Eric, she doesn't know everyone- Moira is her Tai Kwon Do instructor, and Eric in her chemistry course, but she has never met Amy or Mickey before today.
"Hey, Natsuki!" Moira greets her, climbing into the backseat. "This is my little sister, Amy- Amy, this is Natsuki."
Amy also climbs into the backseat! It's not preferred, but she assumes that Mickey has already claimed the front seat.
Natsuki scoots over, not wanting to be caught in the middle. She hates sitting in the middle.
Moira also does not want to be in the middle!
Amy isn't sure how they managed it, since she got in last, but somehow she ends up between her sister and Natsuki.
Mickey gets into the passenger seat and shuts the door.
And they're off! Eric is a good driver- almost too good. The other passengers may get rather fed up with his incessant refusal to speed more than two miles over the speed limit.
Amy is very annoyed, but she doesn't say anything. Well, not about that. "So where is this cabin, anyway?"
