Carlota arrives at the main temple of Abadar in the late morning. It's still raining. Maybe easing up a bit. She's out of Air Bubbles and is resisting the urge to go around in a conjured carriage. She'll do that on the way back, if this succeeds.

(She has four guards with her. Can't be too careful, these days, and they're also useful for her political objective here.)

"Archduke Narikopolus?"

He's in the same room as everyone else, and has only barely slept. He's been healed, but hasn't changed his clothes, which still bear obvious evidence that he needed it.

"Duchess."

"I heard the news. I am of course outraged, and we'll have to respond at once. I wanted to offer you, and any of the lords who serve you, and all of your staff" if any remains, "shelter at my Mansion, for the remainder of the convention if necessary. I brought a significant staff and can assign you half."

He nods, slowly. "That's generous of you, thank you. Baron Ramirez is here. Marquis Reixach is out, we'll have to leave a message with the Abadarans. Count-Regent Napaciza hasn't yet been found. If you have the means to mount a search, we'll want to settle that first."

"We haven't even checked the other temples yet. He might've made a different temple of Abadar, or one of the ones to Iomedae... If we have a place to go I'll look for him."

"I can have some of my men join you if that's helpful. All of you are welcome on the Archduke's recommendation." They are not ordinarily people she'd associate with, at all, but desperate times call for an alliance that is broader and can act decisively.

"You should go, Ramirez, he may be worried about who finds him. I'll leave a message here and get things settled there."

He goes. He'll take the duchess' men with, if they're on offer.

She sizes up Narikopolus briefly and concludes he can keep a mob off her if there is somehow a water-resistant mob out there. Or an angry water elemental, or a more menacing number of zombies. The Baron can take all the men but one for propriety's sake, and she'll conjure a carriage to take her and the Archduke and the remaining guard back to the Mansion.
