Naima's staff wave people in until the temple is full of them. She taps everyone, apparently injured and apparently not, though she stops to tap the worst injured as they stumble or are carried in. She pays her people ludicrous overtime pay to go out into the pouring rain with the stretchers and bring her the people who can't make it themselves; a bonus for every body that's still bringing when they get there, and if they make anything worse on purpose then She Will Know.

After a while the work slows to a trickle. She debates going out herself, but that would be stupid; her people won't know where to find her, and the clerics are out of channels, at this hour. Besides, she promised to protect these people, and she's had quite enough of failing at that particular obligation for tonight, thank you.

How's it look from up there?

He can barely see; it's raining too hard.

I've been putting out fires. Literally. I've just about got everything, now. What's it like down there?

Still bringing in wounded. Not enough people to sweep the city, but we can pick up some of them. I don't know what else needs doing besides that, tonight. For the morning -

- we should touch base with Alfirin. I'm going to want my people, but we should talk to her first about what happened and what else needs doing. I think you should put out any remaining fires, and then see if you can find her. Relay for me if she doesn't want to come here for a telepathic bond casting, I don't want to leave the temple until they stop finding people who are going to die without healing.

I don't know where she is. I'll try the palace, but she might be out in the streets.

He'll teleport in directly. He doesn't need to know what those streets look like right now, and anyway he's seen it all before.

She was out in the streets, but she saw Élie summoning his archons before the rain. She flies up to where he was, once the last crowds have dispersed, and spends a minute looking around for him in the clouds, before concluding that he's gone. She teleports to the temple of Abadar, where Naima was and hopefully still is.

Isn't she so smart for staying in this predictable location even though she was totally tempted to leave it and start tapping people in the streets.

Nevermind, she's here. Did you run into something, or can you come here for a telepathic bond?

Yeah, he can be there.

Telepathic bond, for all three of them.

The most immediate problem that I have is that I suspect there are still more injured and dying in the streets than the handful of people I have can bring in. I am tempted to pay the healed survivors to do it, if no one else is available, but I would really prefer people who aren't terrified out of their minds and possibly recently the cause of the carnage in the fist place. After that I suppose we should talk about the rest of... fixing... this.

The city watch are out in force to try to stop the smaller mobs, and have orders to help people to the temples if they find anyone injured... I doubt they're trying very hard now that the rain's started, though, most of the individual watchmen aren't very reliable. Paying the healed survivors on top of that would be good.

Mmm. "Hey! Everybody! If anyone is feeling okay again and needs something to do, one silver for every body you can bring in on the stretchers that's still breathing when it gets to me! If you make anything worse on purpose, I will know about it!"

That's all I got. What else is on the to do list, then?

I'm planning to keep the rains up through tomorrow at least, but there might be floods. We'll want to get ahead of that. Ordinarily I'd ask Santcliment, but –

He's alive, but he's admittedly not very happy.

I'd take down the locks but I'm not actually sure I could put them back. Does anyone have a better idea than "gate to the elemental plane of air"?

Talk to a hydrologist. Or a river nymph. The traditional solution for flooding in Westcrown used to be 'pay a spellcaster to make the rain stop.'

I can get a river nymph tomorrow. What else needs to happen tonight?

I'm going to want my staff gathered to help sort things out in the very early morning. I need a count for dead delegates and dead family members of delegates, if any, and I need those bodies gathered and stored at a secure location, as soon as possible.

I can get some of my people on teleports. Where do you want them?

Uh... either here or in the demiplane. Here, I guess, most of them have seen cities in this state and will have half a clue what to do, and I can plane shift them to talk about things once the immediate situation has calmed down. I'll want the secretaries and the senior apprentices and Dahab and Ishani.

I can pick up anyone you need now, and tell Farai and Nuru to get the others in the morning.

Mmm. How about you pick up the four at the hospital now - and bring in some food on the way back, if it's convenient - and the secretaries can be brought in in the morning. They'll need more sleep anyway, they'll be handling the worst of the rest of this.

We'll want to determine what this means for the convention.

There is nothing he wants less in the world but they're going to have to do it anyway.

That'll have to wait until we know how many delegates are dead, at least.

Mhm. Off for tomorrow, anyway. I won't know how many days it'll take to raise anyone who was targeted until we know how many were. I do think the biggest priority is finding the bodies before something happens to them. Then we can set a resurrection schedule and figure out how badly this hits us financially, and what to do about that.

Who do we have who can recognize all the delegates on sight – do we know where all of them are staying –

There's a list. It's probably not complete, and probably not accurate about anyone who was worried about giving the government their address. Lilia can recognize them all and might know a couple of locations that the list doesn't.

I think I can, but I have to go to work in the morning, and be here until they stop finding bodies that are still breathing. Novella - probably knows most of them. The Abadaran bankers should know the sortitions, they've been handling accounts for them.

- I should ask what places were hit, and what organizations we should be contacting to get further reports from. Major temples and major nobles, I guess. ...maybe you should go ahead and get the secretaries now, actually, unless you're hurting for spells. They only need the two hours.

I can get them. Lilia can go looking for people now, Novella might want to wait until the morning and take a bodyguard. If you did a Decree to gather at the palace, do you think they'd come?
