Carme is renting a room in an inn.

The inn is not on fire, but some of its neighbors are, and if Carme just sits in her room and uses up her air bubbles there she'll have no affordances to walk out if it gets worse. She needs to get low, out of her second-story deathtrap, and find a neighborhood that is not actively on fire, and, she supposes, give up on the idea of preparing spells tomorrow, because she cannot get a solid night of sleep under these conditions.

She lets herself out of the building without incident. Picks a direction where it looks a little less bright and smoky. Starts walking. Uses up her first air bubble and then when it runs out the smoke seems to seize her by the throat and she leans on a lamppost - presently unoccupied - and tries to expel it.

Fundamentally there's the sort of person who tries to help little old ladies cross the street and the kind who doesn't.

"Ma'am? Ma'am?" He's a young man in mithril armor with a very pretty holy symbol of Iomedae in silver and garnets. Does she look like she needs healing?

Cough cough cough. "Smoke," she whispers. She doesn't look like she's injured, and that's really what healing is best at.

Well, I Don't Think This Will Go Well, But...

"I see. Let's get you out of here, ma'am." If he was a different kind of paladin he'd have a mount but he isn't, so what he can do is offer her a hand and take her weight off her feet and get her out of the part of the city that's burning down until the rains start falling, and if he has to hit her with restoration he will, but he expects she'll be better once she can breathe.

A snake face peeps out of her collar to eye him suspiciously but she leans on him and shuffles out of the most acutely burning area, gulping air whenever a relatively fresh breeze goes by.

"Do you have anywhere to stay?" He is not concerned about snakes. Snakebite may be dangerous, but it's really only dangerous to people who aren't third circle paladins.

A particularly ugly cough followed by spitting into the gutter. "I have an inn room. Smoke was getting in. I thought I'd best leave before it got worse."

"Got it. Any gods you particularly dislike? The non-Hellish ones, I mean." He plans to try to find the first temple out of the blaze that has someone who can cast Resistance.
