"I don't... know. Nobody ever told me anything. I just know that if an alpha werewolf bites someone they change. The alpha has to be strong. Which is what - that's what Damon was doing. Making me strong."

"Okay. We'll- figure it out. What do we need to before the cabin? Should I look into getting chains, or do you think you can take them from your house without rousing suspicion?"

"It's my house, the only person that might object is Lexi and I'm stronger than her now."

"What's Lexi's deal? Is she not a werewolf?"

"I'll loop you in. Let's let the lovebirds talk."

She looks to Juliet for permission.

She squeezes her hand. "I don't mind."

Well. Erica stays.

Isaac falls behind the rest of the group sullenly.

"The good thing about having a tragic middle," he muses, "is that we might just get a happy ending."

She smiles at him softly and addresses Erica.

"Lexi is a wendigo. They're kinda like vampires except... cannibals. Both my uncles are wendigos too. Though Damon was - the bad kind. He eats living humans."

"...oh."

"Fuck Damon, and fuck Lexi. We don't need family anymore."

"Hear hear! Fair Juliet, are we running to our next location, or taking the car?"

"We'll take the car. If you really want to run we have free reign of the woods surrounding the boarding house."

"I just want to test my supposed lycanthropy. Maybe I'm special. Maybe there's something unique about true love's bite."

That's pretty much how the whole drive goes. Isaac tries to seem invested in their relationship. It's probably what pack is supposed to do. Mostly he seems bored.

Isaac can do what he wants. They arrive at the boarding house in short order. Juliet - hesitates and then turns to them.

"I just want to. Warn you. In advance. About what you're going to see here. And promise you that I will never do this to you."

Nod. That doesn't seem to comfort him much.

"I trust you."

This time, he takes Juliet's hand. Erica can't be this for her.

"The dungeon is. A dungeon. I've been locked there every full moon my whole life. Once when I was seven I broke out. Killed someone. Ever since then my family used wolfsbane to keep me weak enough that I can't do that again. I don't think I need it anymore, having a pack feels.. different. Especially after Damon -" she cuts herself off and continues. "But it's not pretty. You don't have to come with me if you don't want to."

"I'm sticking with you, whatever that means."

She looks over to Isaac. She knows he doesn't want to be here.

He doesn't want to be with them. That much, he's made clear.

He seems somewhat transfixed with this place, though.

"Let's see it."
