On Jasmine's request and to centralize a bit here's a thread just for discussing my strange perception powers and The Seeds of Creation that they let me perceive to some degree.

A summary of things I've said in other threads:

The Seeds aren't something I fully understand but most of them they have at least somewhat person-like personalities. The Seeds leave their fingerprints on just about everything from people to magic systems to language. The personalities of the seeds manifest in the same sort of way you can learn something about an artist by the art them make. The personality of the seeds tends to leak into the people that bear their fingerprints in one way or another. It's possible that causality is reversed and that the seeds only influence people who fit their personality though. I can get similar senses for worlds and species.

The Seeds come in three types I've seen so far scents, materials, and colors. The scents seem to be the deepest layer of influence almost everything in a world has some influence from a scent and Vanilla specifically is very nearly ubiquitous. Not every world or person has the influence of a material layer atop the scent but a majority of worlds and a decent chunk of the people I've spoken to in depth have such influences. The colors apply the final touches to things. They can override the influences of the deeper seeds and I've yet to find a world or speak to a person for more than a sentence without them having at least a touch of color in them.

Sometimes I meet people with matching influences from the seeds, the more divergent their worlds are the more the influences usually differ but there's a sense in which it's obvious that the two people match. Such individuals often manage to have nearly identical personalities despite existing in sometimes radically different worlds. 

One of my powers of perception translates speech and occasionally describes the world in English. I did not speak English before receiving my powers so I believe that the choice of English is somehow related to the seeds. English has strong traces of vanilla, the part of my magic that does the translation doesn't though.

Individuals with strong personalities can go against the influences of the seeds. I've occasionally seen a person with the remnants of failed influences and once when I later saw a matching person that new pattern of fingerprints matched the altered pattern rather than the original.

The seed I have the strongest sense for is the Sky seed I can see influencing me. The people who bear Sky influence strongly tend to be fairly psychologically resilient under most circumstances. Economies with Sky influence tend to be post scarcity or nearly post scarcity. Governments with Sky influence tend to be highly meritocratic and/or decentralized. 

If I peer deeper at myself there's another seed's fingerprints beneath that I call Rowan. Rowan isn't something I've seen in very many people but Rowan's influence sometimes appears in magic systems which involve potions or incanted spells. Sometimes it also appears in low-tech high-magic cultures. 

This forum has the fingerprints of Teal on it but I don't remember encountering teal before so I can't really comment in too much detail. The impression I get from the magic is very friendly though. I don't think this forum will endanger anyone, at least not directly.
