Already on the first day of our Constitutional Convention, it has been revealed by the grace of the Good gods that Rahadi Lebanel, elected delegate claiming to represent the priest of our city, is a priest who serves Erecura, a great power of Hell. This matter has been reported by many brave observers, who though present to serve the delegates at the convention nevertheless have shared much information of interest to the people of Cheliax. Many virtuous and noble delegates sought rightly to have him expelled for those reasons, but by a Mephistophelean trick he convinced the Archmage Cotonnet of his lies. But lies they are, and I hope that all may now know of the truth which the False Delegate sought to conceal.
Erecura is known as the Queen of Dis, for she rules Dis alongside her husband Dispater. She was cast into Hell by the will of Pharasma, for she sought in the manner of a Lich to seek immortality for herself. All this the False Delegate Lebanel did not contest. But it is plain for all to see that even were this all that was known about the Queen of Dis, no right-thinking person ought to serve her. To serve Erecura is to openly admit that one cares not for Pharasma's will. To serve Erecura is to compromise with Evil in every moment, inviting it willingly into our hearts. It may be that the False Delegate Lebanel is Lawful Neutral, as he claims. But if he is, he still consorts openly with powers of Hell, and he is no less culpable than a priest of Gorum who takes up arms in defense of Hell.
But the False Delegate, in his haste to excuse his crime, omits certain information which will remove all doubt as to his guilt. Even before the defeat of Asmodeus, he was permitted to operate his temple of Erecura openly with full support of Queen and Church, and to advise the people of Cheliax on their troubles. No decent god, no decent person, could ever have been permitted such a thing by the servants of Asmodeus.
I shall not call for the head of the False Delegate Lebanel to swing from a lamppost, for the Queen in her wisdom has forbidden such demands, perhaps fearing that diabolists might defame innocents with false accusations. But I hope it is clear to allow such a man to write the laws of our country would be tantamount to inviting Asmodeus's servants to sit by our hearths.
