And the vertigo ends and the world stops spinning in more than one place.
Jean finds himself in what is obviously a meeting room. Surrounding by very obviously important looking people.
Not to mention two...
"...don't, don't make me tell you. Please. I, I know that's not ... please, please, kill me here like this, I don't mind, if you'll just hold me I don't mind, let me die with you not..."
Nothing past there is intelligible.
Squeeze, squeeze. "Okay, I won't. I won't make you tell me. I won't kill you."
"I don't mind if you do," he insists, earnestly.
"What? No! That... why would you even say that?"
"--because it's true -- I won't lie to you, I swear it--"
Cling. "I don't want to kill you. I don't."
He's shaking to pieces more than crying, now, clinging to Felix like he's afraid of falling.
Then suddenly. "We should go to Milliways, open a door to your world and then close it. There is a time pausing effect."
He isn't so much managing words, but he nods.
Felix takes them to the portal to Milliways and then to the main door. The place does look an awful lot like a regular pub, except for that thing over there.
"Just open the door and close it. I'm not sure if just being here will do it, but that definitely should do it."
He does that. (Clingily.)
Felix teleports them back home. This time to their bed.
Beds are a good place for crying on Felix.
Felix will remain snuggly.
He will also contact Fenris.
Who contacts Zari and explains the whole thing.
"...um. Wow. What ... do you know what happened to him? .... He has a me, right?"
"Felix didn't get that much out of him. The Jean was too emotional. Felix thinks that the fact that yours vanished around the same time and given that this one showed up right next to Felix and Feranno, it's a strong indicator that it wasn't just a coincidence and maybe they swapped universes."
"...which implies that my brother is in whatever situation left his alt like this."
"Yup. Felix had the foresight to get this Jean to open and close the door to his world so time stays paused there."
Sigh. "Okay. Not urgent, then, I suppose. Thank you."
"You're welcome. Anything else you think we should do?"
"Find out if he has a me -- or someone equivalent -- if you can? It affects the scale of what needs to be done, I think."
Fenris contacts Felix who asks. "The local Zari is asking if you have one of her."
This is reported back. "How much of a difference does it make?"
