Music Room 3, he said. Trust me, he said. Well, here's Kaede, trusting him.
He opens the door to Music Room 3.
"But we have other things too."
"Colour me intrigued. Also hungry."
Kaoru pokes the snacks the cook left. They are only slightly cold.
"Maybe dinner. Or popcorn, if we're gonna see a movie."
"Or popcorn for dinner."
"I like the way you think."
The twins inspect the popcorn machine.
"Do you know how to use this thing?"
"No. Do you?"
"I can figure it out," he says, rolling his eyes and grinning. So, how does it work?
"You need to add oil and popcorn kernels and then just turn it on," he informs.
"To the kitchen!" Hikaru says.
The kitchen is huge and ultra modern.
When they get there, the twins immediately start opening cupboards and pulling out drawers, not bothering to close them again when they're done.
"Do you not know where popcorn kernels and oil are in your own kitchen?" he wonders, amused.
"No," they say together.
"Why would we?"
"To be able to get food without having to ask people for it?"
"Why would we do that?"
"That's what servants are for."
"'Cause it's faster?"
He starts helping to look for stuff.
They eventually unearth a bag of popcorn kernels and a bottle of oil.
Kaoru holds the bottle of oil in the air like it's a trophy.
Kaede claps enthusiastically.
Proudly carrying the ingredients they make their way back to the movie theater, where both twins stare in befuddlement at the popcorn maker.
