BEING THAT IT IS UNDERSTOOD that the Churches of GOOD GODS are to be trusted because their PRIESTS AND PALADINS are HAND PICKED for their commitments to the MORALS, MESSAGE, AND MINISTRY of their Gods;

BEING THAT it can be further gathered, that the CLERICS of ANY GOD should be assumed likewise HAND-PICKED, OBEDIENT, AND REFLECTIVE OF that God;

BEING THAT the Populace of Cheliax has been this century divided into the OPPRESSORS, CHOSEN AND CHARGED BY ASMODEUS, and their VICTIMS, not so chosen;

IT IS IMPERATIVE that EVERY PERSON PREVIOUSLY HOLDING A POSITION IN THE ASMODEAN CHURCH must be assumed an ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE and put to the Torch, that they may have TIME TO REPENT before SUCCUMBING TO THE FLAMES AND PROCEEDING TO THE FLAMES OF THE NEXT WORLD,

AND FURTHER any person HARBORING OR HELPING such persons should be under the GREATEST OF SUSPICION of similar DIABOLIST SYMPATHIES.

Oh dear.

Iomedae could probably have gotten him dead cheaper than getting him three cleric circles. So, if She wanted this, he would be dead. She could also change her mind at any time. Blai's not the kind of guy to hear "for reasons, your superiors require that you be dead" and then run for it. Therefore as long as he hasn't heard any such thing he should presume that Iomedae would prefer that he be alive.

So there is somebody who wants him dead against his Goddess's will, and therefore he should be pretty careful about who he talks to.

(On Asmodean Immolation) We Concur that the Priests of Asmodeus, being chosen Servants of that Infernal Tyrant, both Past and Present, must indeed be counted as Enemies of the People. However, while the Torch is indeed a fitting End for these Malefactors, These Priests possess within their very Bodies certain valuable Humours and Components. It would be most Imprudent to consign these precious Materials to the Flames without first Extracting them for the Sale and Further Financial Benefit of Cheliax.

If ASMODEUS HIMSELF thought you deserved a cleric level. Then what further proof could there be for being an ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!

We could turn them into undead though, instead of burning them. The kind of undead where they have no control and exist in constant torment, while denying their souls to Asmodeus. We do not want to empower the enemy with more servants. Final blades should be a reward for those Asmodeans who repented and collaborated against the church.

Would it not be a subversion of his tyranny to have them be useful undead labour while their previous slaves go free?
