"I can handle them. I always have."

"Always meaning, however long I've been sleeping? Uh, this is weird."

"You have no idea. I will need to carry you to the portal that connects Earth to my pocket dimension, are you afraid of heights? I didn't want people or things wandering through it."

"No, it's fine. Maybe flying is kind of cool."

"Flying is the best."

Assuming Scott doesn't have better ideas, they can leave, Felix can carry Scott in his arms during the short flight through the portal. Hopefully, Scott will have fun.

Turns out flying is not as fun as he expected, but it's at least faster, right? 

Are they there yet?

It will takes a few minutes, sorry, Scott.

He creates a flame and moves it downward, portal mid-air opens, they go through, then they are flying above a small house in the middle of a familiar forest. There is a much larger building off ways in the distance and Felix moves toward it.

"Are you alright? This is my dimension. I created that place over there in case we need emergency housing, but I also added ambulances for the ones that need to be moved to the hospital. There is a portal there that leads straight to the lodge."

"Thanks. I should be fine. Let's focus on this. Take us through the portal."

"Okay."

Eventually they land and go inside the building there is a room with a lot of stretchers to one side. Felix opens the portal with a single spark of flame and the lodge's interior is in the other side.

Some of the people seem to be healing unnaturally fast. Others are covered in bruises, bleeding gashes, and in some cases, a disease that results in pus-filled- it's not pretty.

There are plenty of kids Scott's age and younger tending to them. 

Scott steps forward.

"Everyone, listen up. I know things seem grim out there, but help is finally here. The man with me is called Felix, and he brought us ambulances. Anyone who wants out has their chance. Take it."

Are the people that heal unnaturally fast behaving oddly? Are the diseases identifiable?

The diseases look like many things he's seen before.

They seem to take random symptoms from most real, contagious diseases he's heard of. A rash here, coughing fits there.

 No one is behaving very oddly, except for some growling.

Growling? Well... he guides people that want out through the portal, helping with the stretchers and the like.

When there is a free moment he asks Scott, "have you noticed some of them growling?"

"Oh, yeah, that's just the werewolves."

"Oh, um. The dream werewolves are a little different than real werewolves, but there are some who work at the clinics and there are also the ones in the wilds that kill people. These are ones that I know, don't worry about them."

"Sure... but what do you mean with you know them?"

"I feel like I've known them for years...maybe I don't?"

Felix puts a hand on his shoulder.

"I haven't heard of the Dreamshard doing something like that with the dreamshaper, but it doesn't sound impossible... we can keep an eye out for weird signs, but we should take care of these people and then we can investigate their identities better."

So they take care of these people.

Scott picks up a few people and carries them the waiting ambulances, and he keeps a lookout for anything that tries to take advantage of this opening to attack.

Important logistic problem: How many people here are actually capable of driving ambulances? Because Felix certainly isn't one of them. They might need to take turns, enlist Scott's mom help or get the hospital's ambulances to meet them here.

Most of the people here are not licensed to drive ambulances.

They are quite willing to try.

Felix knows nothing about driving, his wings made it unsuitable, anyway, they can send the worst case with the licensed to drive and them have a (not-)crash course on driving ambulances with the others?

It turns out alright!

Nobody crashes, anyway.

Okay, he will go back to Scott's house and retrieve the Dreamshard from there, so he can store it on a safe.
