"I want to help them, but I would rather they didn't listen to what I have to say, at least not now. But I need to tell it to you if anyone here is going to be safe."

"Help me get them to the lodge, then we can talk."

"Alright," Felix says, he can't do much without cooperation, "so, what is going on here?"

"There are a lot of dangerous things in the woods. Werewolves, lupines, draugr...it's not safe."

Scott walks further into the trees, and it gets darker as the sunlight is obscured by leaves.

Urgh, not a monster-creating dimension.

"What are those? Are we far away from the lodge?"

He looks at the girls, who are playing with each other slightly ahead.

Then he turns to Felix.

"This is what werewolves look like."

"Oh, okay. Are you one or some other kind of creature?"

"I'm a werewolf. Lupines are those things you chased off earlier. They're predators. Not very malicious, but if they see a weak target... and there are draugr, the undead. There are other, rarer things."

"Well, I didn't see any of those up in the sky. And even if they do show up, which should be unlikely, I can just scare them off."

Please, believe this. Felix isn't sure if your belief will make things easier, but let's hope it does.

"Okay. We can talk more when we get there."

Felix follows. He observes the children Scott is protecting, just in case they are disguised monsters or act... off, sometimes dimensions produce weird things like people-looking facsimiles.

They mostly seem to be scared little girls, though their expressions aren't quite right.

Probably not real, but also probably harmless.

Okay, Felix will guide them through the forest for now. How far until the lodge?

Nearly there now. There's some blood on the ground but Scott doesn't seem surprised.

The girls look scared, but holding his hands seems to stabilize them.

Okay, scared girls, will you be less scared if Felix holds your hands? He doesn't need them to fight.

(Also: aww, Scott. This would be kinda of adorable if it was just a dream.)

They go inside.

The lodge is a bit messy, and the wood has begun to rot, but they clearly are doing their best to keep things sterile.

There are lots of people on beds.

There are more people injured and dying than there are places to put them.

Scott hands the girls off to someone else and turns to Felix.

"We should step outside."

He pulls Scott into a corner. "Please, listen to me for just a moment."

"Fine. Talk."

Felix says quietly, but quickly. "Okay. There is a weird magic going on. This isn't your regular town, but a pocket dimension and this isn't your real body. The real body is asleep in your house right now, your mom is looking after it. Furthermore... while these people are likely real, they are being created because you are asleep. I need to make you wake up and the only way is if I take you out of the dimension through a portal."

"What? Why would you expect me to believe that?"

"I can't say I expect? But I need your cooperation. If you don't wake up more and more of these people will be created."

"What happens to them if I wake up?"

"Oh, they shouldn't be harmed. They might or might not be actual people, but if you don't wake up their numbers will grow continuously until your real body dies."

"They'll keep existing, though?"
