"I guess. He's going to talk to my dad, so I think he'll be fine." 

"Does he already know about the situation?"

"I filled him in on everything important." 

"Good. Do you need anything from me for now? I should take a nap, conjure Allison's book and try to work out how to translate it."

"Go ahead. We'll take care of ourselves." 

"Sure, I will come by later to see how everyone here is doing."

Felix takes his nap, creates a bit of pocket dimension with a radio transmission that includes the Bestiary and some internet updates...

...about an hour later Felix is back and wants the best way to get hold of Allison.

Here's her cell phone number.

"Hello, Allison? I want to know if the book is supposed to have a magical effect that grants panlinguism magic to whoever reads it and if you somehow failed to mention that to me or if I'm experiencing some side effect from memory manipulation."

"Not that I know of. Do you want to come over, my dad can have a look?"

"Of course, I will have to make a lot of fog so I can land without being seen, so please don't be alarmed. See you in a bit."

Presuming Allison doesn't protest, Felix will do exactly that.

Allison doesn't protest.

"What's going on?" 

Her father stands further back, observing. 

Felix glances at Allison's father, but if he doesn't introduce himself, Felix isn't going to do the same. To Allison he says:

"Well, I copied the book," Felix says waving a tablet he brought, "and when I tried to read it... I could understand just fine, except I've never learned Latin. So I tried other languages and I can read, understand and speak each one of them like it was native. I did not possess this ability the last time I was confronted with a language I've never learned and this isn't a usual occurrence back in my original universe." Pause. "I'm very confused."

"That doesn't usually happen. I don't think the book is magical at all."

"Is it something your magic can do at all? I'm afraid of somehow having my memories tampered with. It would be possible but inconvenient to get them back."

"Mental tampering has been known to happen."

"I was informed of the possibility. You're Mr. Argent, right?"

"I am. A pleasure to meet you, despite the circumstances."

"I am Felix Dalkaila. The circumstances aren't really the best. Sorry for coming to your home all the suddenly," Felix pauses to think, it would do no good if this man thought a werewolf mind-erased Felix even if it turns out to be true. "the whole language business is weird to explain but so harmless and my form of immortality will handle any memory tampering. So it isn't that big of a concern, just confusing."

"I think I'm still concerned, but I can let you handle it, if you'd prefer."

"Yes, I would rather not impose that onto you." Please read that as a polite way of saying that you should staying of this. "Since I'm already here, I could answer your questions, but if it is an inopportune time, I can always come back later, I have a lot of time in my hands."

"If you're offering, I wouldn't minded hearing about your immortality. How hard is it to share?"

"I can't do it. My brother is the one that produces it, but he is in another universe. I don't know enough about the local magic to be certain there isn't a way to share using it, but I would guess it would involve a lot of power or clever exploitation. It also automatically comes with wings and random weather-related powers, making it harder for one to go out in the street without cover." Felix waves at the window, that shows the still foggy outside.

"I understand. It was worth a shot. Do you need someone to check for tampering?"

"I have the means to notice future tamperings, and likely the means to reverse this one, but what did you had in mind?"
