The following day there is: school!
Sadde and Willow are already there, sitting on a bench chatting.
Yeah, and Cordelia can pretend to believe her.
Or she can, you know, not. "Come on, spill it, what's up?"
Eva rolls her eyes. "Some people are breaking into an office," she says. "I have no idea why."
"Yeah," she says.
And it should be pretty clear to her, since she's looking 'round the corner at it.
Do the wind noises and lights coming from under the door change their minds?
They make Eva frown, and if Cordelia doesn't go in then Eva thinks she might.
Cordelia isn't going in, nope, but she's coming up with lots of (probably incorrect) conclusions about it from outside.
It opens! The room is dark and smoky and there is a swirling cloud of dust around it and sourceless light sparkling.
And three very surprised teenagers.
"… Whyyy did you set off some weird smoke thing or– whatever," she says, then looks around a bit more. "Um?"
Sadde finishes her chant. The smoke and ashes finish their unnatural patterns and disappear. "Magic," she answers simply.
"I guess that depends on what you two are gonna do about it," she shrugs. "Aaalso you are not very good at keeping watch, are you?" she accuses Theo.
"How do you even know what D&D is?" asks Eva. "Anyway, I repeat what I asked earlier– what?"
