Okay, so maybe she'd gone a bit too far. Maybe that boy didn't deserve the psychological torment. But he was really annoying and-

No. Okay. Okay. New town. New people. Small town which is terrible like ugh but fine, she'll deal, they'd need a new place anyway. Her mother got a job at the library, they arrived on Thursday, and she was enrolled but like, who starts school on a Thursday? Not she. She starts on Monday. So, Monday morning, bright an early, she has class.

...um. What's her first class?

Theo isn't actually focusing on how you look, sorry Sadde, but he might be happy to know that you're focusing on him.

Jogging! Pointing out boring stuff! Then eventually it'll come to an end!

Awww what a shame. Oh well. He'll hang around for a little bit to check whether Theo meant what he said when he invited Sadde for food.

Theo did in fact mean what he said! But he should probably shower before he gets cooking – Sadde can use his mom's en-suite so long as he's careful not to, like, mess with things.

Sure, fine by him, then.

Shower! Then he goes into the kitchen and– he actually has no idea what Sadde wants to eat so he just grabs out a pan and a chopping board and then waits until he's done to ask.

There he is, wearing the same clothes he was in at school. "Hello."

"Hey! Any sort of thing you want or don't like…? I wasn't really sure if you wanted, like, pasta and bacon or like spaghetti bolognese or like– I dunno, omelette? Or if you're vegetarian, I know how to do some vegetarian dishes too, and like, omelette is okay unless you're vegan anyway?"

… Words. Apparently Theo can say a lot of them in a short period of time.

Yeah that's actually pretty surprising. "No restrictions. Surprise me," he shrugs.

Shrug. "Pasta and bacon then? Since it's relatively quick and easy."

He puts some water on to boil and turns the grill on, then gets out a pack of pasta and some bacon and starts preparing it.

"Sounds good to me."

"Cool. So– think you'll wanna keep doing this, then?"

"Yeah, it was fun! And it's good to keep in shape and stuff."

"Yeah! I like it."

He beams.

"So, why do you live alone?"

"'Cause my mom travels a lot for work?"

"Oh. What does she do?"

"Oh, she's an exec in her company! Usually she's away doing various administrative things kinda close-up. … Uh, I don't actually know in that much detail what she actually does? She seems to do it quite well, though." Shrug.

"Huh. Cool." He won't ask about his dad because Theo didn't mention a dad and must have a reason for it.

Pasta! Fortunately, pasta does not actually take too long to cook, nor does bacon, so they'll have pasta and bacon ready relatively soon.

Whee pasta!

Nom! It is in fact relatively tasty, but then again, it's kinda hard to cook just 'pasta and bacon' badly.

"So, what's your thing?" he asks one of his favorite questions.

"That's a bit vague? And I'm not sure what you mean by 'thing'?"

"Well, you know, if you had to describe yourself with three words what would you say, what's important to know about Theo, this kind of stuff."

"Three words, um. I'd hope people would describe me something like 'charming, knowledgeable and fun'? I'm not sure how accurate those are, though, not being another person who could judge my charmingness unbiasedly."
