When you kill someone, their spirit follows you. You can't see them, except in times of extreme stress, when you might be seeing things anyway. They can inconvenience you mildly, but not obviously. The line of your dead will follow you until you die.
Necromancers can see them. They're extremely rare and also a secret. Most 'mediums' are false.
There is a detective agency.
