Humans are Psychic/Fighting Pokémon. They can reproduce with other Humanoid Pokémon. Psychic Pokémon are sapient; they are the only type that are consistently so. Pokémon of other types *may* be. "Humans" often have Kadabra or Drowzee or Mr. Mime family members.

Psychic combat- people who make eye contact enter each other's minds; psychic defenses are nearly impossible without collaborating with others but psychic offense is easy; by collecting a large enough crew of fellow Pokémon, you can built a strong enough defense.

Humans have multiple 'evolutionary' stages, same as any Pokémon. Modern Pokéballs can't catch Pokéhumans but apricorn-based ones can, which is why their manufacture is heavily regulated.

Pokémon are also aliens. The vibe here is like- Xenomorphs? Where they infest existing life and take on its traits. Pokémon "egg groups" (the groups of Pokémon that can interbreed) are defined by the native life they displaced (e.g. Floral, Humanoid, Insectoid, Amphibious, Avian, Piscine, Draconic).
