Theb (Tetratopian, LN)

Ex-Cleric 17 (Abadar)

This peace is what all entities in war strive for, and to Theb that's fine, she's saved Tetratopia, the expected future value of the entire universe-shard has increased a nontrivial amount by her intervention alone, and now that's done, and this will never happen again, and half of her life is behind her. And she had Abadar in her head, her brain wiring around the spells He gave her in the shape that let Him talk to her reaching so carefully across the gap between entities of such vast difference, and she loved Abadar, and He's gone, somewhere far out of causal contact, and His last gift in the world was to place her gently here with her Gxelo and not anywhere else in the vast multiverse, and now...

The stars in the sky are shining. Just the sky, there aren't stars below her, she could very easily go to space, she could spent the rest of her life there in a non-euphemistic sense, but she's been scared to go back to space because it wouldn't be the same and then space would be ruined for her. It seems like it's a little bit of a waste that they're shining on this.

(It's a hole in her cognition, she knows. Perhaps some day she'll take a medium dose of acid and overcome her trauma and reanneal around a shape that doesn't include Abadar, to pull that back open when there are entities elsewhere that are actually like Him.)

It is very important that Theb cuddles with Gxelo.

It usually is, especially when she's feeling like this, but this is a different kind of important. She has. Gotten used to picking out the difference between her own motivations, and some other entity guiding her, even as they grow closer and closer, and this isn't trying to be subtle.

It is independently a good idea to cuddle with Gxelo, and she can think about this socially with Gxelo.

Theb walks through continuous Euclidean space to where Gxelo is.

"Hey Gxelo," she says, already grabbing her. Was Gxelo doing something? It hopefully didn't matter that much. "I perceive an externally-originated internal motivation to cuddle you." That would be an amazing flirt if metaphorical and remains an amazing flirt when true. "Epistemic-status true report of perceptions." She squishes Gxelo without any base attack bonus.

Hahaha what no ok this is fine.

If Gxelo wasn't genre savvy she'd spend, like, 25 tags modelling things as Theb having some kind of narrative-psychotic illness, the kind that happens when people start undergoing low-probability events and is probably made way the gems worse by abrupt declericing. Oh, what's that, a priori models of brain function, this big predictive processing engine is now hallucinating an Abadaroid \rhetorical-question.

Obviously this is a new thread where Theb gets fixed.

Hey, entity in communication with Theb, talk to Gxelo \coercive-request. She's the one who deals with plot shit here.

it's not like she can do anything if you don't, and theb is one of her characters, and if you damage her then you will be eaten alive. a communication channel might make that easier to avoid!

"Do you think this is an externally-originating internal motivation /q," says Gxelo, kind of putting her inordinately fancy PDA down somewhere to get a better angle on grabbing Theb back. It wasn't actually that important.

"I assign..." says Theb, and then she knows that Gxelo will be the counterparty for some fairly lopsided bets against naturalistic explanations. "I will bet NO at 80%. 10 kilocredit limit order."

Her actual probability is way lower and saying that is how to not extract money from gods. Very sad Thebs will autopilot this.
