Sadde returns home, sleeps, and then goes to school the following day. He arrives and starts looking for Theo, but runs into—
He dodges it. Really quite easily. And then grabs the pencil, because it'd be bad if the lead snapped or something.
He looks at her questioningly. "Test of reflexes?"
"Well the last time this happened you were seduced by a vampire, that's different. He could've been nicer and at least made the bite more pleasant, though."
"So, next test, throw you at a vampire under controlled circumstances and see if we have a vampire-hunting superweapon."
"I mean, so far I haven't really been very superweapony? Like, at all? Vampires seem kinda ridiculous on speed and things, and I'm not ridiculous, just like, high end of average."
"Well, trained humans can, in fact, take on vampires. Not, like, super powerful or trained vampires, and it's usually better to do it in groups, and magic tends to be the way to go anyway, but..."
"… Okay, so I probably have an advantage over them for baseline stuff, and if I train a bit, I'll probably be a bit better?" He squints a bit. "I could've sworn vampires were more… powerful than that."
"Element of surprise plus preparation plus weapons plus vampire inexperience. They're stronger and faster, yeah, but crosses, holy water, stuff like that are very conspicuous weaknesses. Note that I didn't say humans can in fact take on demons, demons are a whole 'nother can of worms."
"I suppose I will sort of take that as a maybe-I'm-actually-going-to-be-useful, then? Especially seeing as how I'm part-demon." He pulls a bit of a face. "I still don't remember anything, by the way. It's been like two minutes, I think?"
"Yeah, whatever kind of demon I am only gives me lame shapeshifting. And let's wait another five minutes or so."
"I'd rather not destroy anything in my room, at least, and I don't think we have many spare things marked 'to destroy', and I'd rather not pierce my skin more than necessary, but I'm not super averse to it all? Meaning, somewhat willing?"
"What I'm thinking is comparing your resistance to, say, a needle, to mine. Or Willow's. And then seeing just how damaging your nails and teeth can be."
"I'm fine with that, so long as we find an acceptable target for me to maul, sure."
"I know where needles are just fine, but um, maulable targets, uhhh." He thinks for a moment and says, "Like, I can only think of 'cardboard boxes' which are not very difficult to maul but also are not particularly precious and are therefore maulable? Or maybe going and finding a… tree… somewhere?"
"… Maul the asphalt? I mean, uh, yeah, I could? But, like. It's asphalt. That's presumably in use and might– inconvenience someone if I mauled it?"
