Getting to the boarding school after taking the bullet train most of the way would just be a fast subway ride; here, the subways run on the Leap Gauge, and they're positively enormous on the inside. Rosie was full of excitement to see her new classmates and experience Lightcone City for herself. She was born in a lonely mining town, and the first years of her life were full of fun and wonder. But she wanted to spend more time with children her age, and go to a real school, and go on tons of fun adventures! So, it was a matter of asking her mom and dad about moving from their outpost city to a "real city" where she'd have the chance to make lots of friends her age and to get to see much more of the world than just her sleepy hometown.
Finally stepping out from her train, and making her way up to the streets, she was full of excitement. It was just a short escalator trip up from the tunnels. Looking up from the street level at the skyscraper where she'd be living for the next few years, she could see the vast atriums behind huge sheets of gently sloped glass, designed to give the illusion of being outdoors, with children having fun playing tag or looking at an excited teacher explaining something that must have been amazing fun to learn.
