She can absolutely have food. Demon cuisine is weird and different from what she's familiar with, but tasty.

"Hi!" She greets him with a hug and a kiss.

Kiss. "Hi! I brought calligraphy supplies."

"I can see that. Let's be nerds."

Demonic calligraphy supplies turn out to be meaningfully different from human ones! For one thing, demon hands are significantly larger on average and the brush handles are designed accordingly.

Nerine sits in Khythen's lap and giggles at the enormous brushes.

"They're not that big," he says, mock-offended.

"Oh, I'd've thought it would have been obvious by now that our kind have larger--pens," a passing demon says with a suggestively raised eyebrow.

"Much to my delight, yes," she says, petting a brush handle affectionately.

Khythen buries his face in his hands and giggles helplessly.

Nerine turns in his lap so she can hug him, giggling.

Hugs.

"We could probably get Izaneth to make brushes more like what you're used to."

"I will happily continue making filthy jokes about your calligraphy supplies in the meantime."

"I have complete and total faith in your ability to make filthy jokes in any and all situations." Kiss.

"Good, good." Kiss.

Kiss  Snuggle. Khythen looks around in case Izaneth happens to be around.

Yep! He catches Khythen looking at him and comes over.

"What's up?"

He holds up one of the brushes. "Unsurprisingly in retrospect, demon writing tools are not optimized for human hands."
