It straightens, and its photoreceptors light up.

"You are the one I was told to watch for," it says in a clipped, mechanical voice. "Do you wish to know Darth Occlus's whereabouts?"

"Yes please."

Its eyes dim for a moment then brighten.

"She is returning to this floor. Estimated arrival time, three minutes." The eyes go dark and it returns to its resting state.

...okay. She'll wait, then.

About three minutes later, the lift doors at the end of the hall open, and Occlus walks out.

The kobold waits for her to exit the lift, and then bows.

"For what reason have you returned?"

"The meeting area is ready; Satele is available to talk to you any time in the next three days."

"Faster than I expected. Has any sort of agenda been set?"

"I haven't had a chance to ask them."

"And you yourself have no opinions on the matter?"

"Opinions, yes, but I'm still not sure I know enough about the situation for them to matter." She shrugs slightly.

"You know enough about the situation that you decided to arrange this meeting. If you are to be an intermediary in this matter, I wish to know more about who it is that has appointed themselves so."

"I'm someone who thinks the world can change, and that it's better if people with different - values, priorities, goals - can find ways to coexist, rather than fighting. I'd like to see you and the Jedi reach the point of leaving each other alone, rather than have people die unnecessarily. I think it might be possible; I don't know enough about you or the situation to know. But if it is, it won't be the first time I've done something along these lines that someone thought couldn't be done." She grins slightly as she says this last bit.

"How refreshingly straightforward of you. Very well. Tomorrow. 0900 local time. Seventeen hours from now."

The kobold grins and bows again. "Thank you."

"I wish to inspect the place of the meeting, to verify that it is free of traps."

"No-one has been there but me, but okay. One moment."

Mage-sense, go: Any unexpected objects on Occlus' person?

Just the hoop she uses to retrieve artifacts.

And it should be obvious enough if she makes use of that. Okay.

The kobold offers the Sith her hand.

Occlus takes it.

And here they are in the meeting room. The portals overhead show an early twilight sky; the kobold says "light", and they change to midafternoon.

She keeps a very close eye on Occlus.

Occlus closes her eyes and goes very still as she seeks any sources of danger in the area.

"Tell me what defensive spells you have laid on this place."

"If anyone in this room uses the force, or ignites a lightsaber, or if the air is ionized, everyone in the room is teleported away. Those spells are cast multiple times, in overlapping layers, so that damaging the room won't remove them  all, and if any of them are broken, everyone in the room is teleported away by the remaining ones. I've also borrowed some advanced poison-denaturing tech from Bar, and there's a portal system in place that only I can activate that will vent the room's air into space and replace it, which I'll be using in between meetings. And, this is an uninhabited planet in an uninhabited universe; no Jedi has ever been here unsupervised, and even that was briefly and not on this part of the world."

Occlus can feel no intent to harm from the kobold or the room.

"I would like to see the surface of this planet."
