"The captured Sith, for one. I don't mind being responsible for them," - this is only partly true; she has plenty of thoughts about the situation and a solid third of them are 'minding being responsible for the Sith' in one sense or another, but she's worried about the implications of that discomfort even more - "but I'm not sure I'm the best person for the job."

"If you set up a way to access their cell, I can make arrangements to lift that burden from you."

The kobold pauses for a moment, considering Satele's response (that's not what I meant, is this Satele speaking euphemistically again, does it matter, what do; look, yes, this is what I want, and anyway if they aren't going to do at least as good a job as I could, I need to know that; I can always check in), and nods. "I'll see what I can come up with."

"Less urgently, Ana and I were talking last night and they mentioned ration bars; I wonder if you wouldn't like some kind of portal system to let people get food from a cafeteria while they're away, instead."

"That would a large boost to morale, especially among the enlisted troops. It would be a long-term, large-scale investment of time and energy to create a system that would serve everyone."

Nod. "Well, let me know."

"I will consult with the Logistics Division. A dedicated facility is probably called for."

Nod, grin. "If there's anything else like that that I can help with, it's not the highest priority, of course, but I'm willing."

"I will be on watch for other opportunities."

"Thank you."

"The next thing I wanted to ask about is what you're expecting it'll be like, if I teach the teleportation magic - at home, mages are fairly rare, usually a few to a tribe, and only people the tribe considers especially thoughtful and trustworthy are allowed to learn; that doesn't seem to be quite what you're doing here, which is fine, but I'm curious what your plan is."

"I think it will become more widespread that that. Not taught to every Padawan, but most Masters and a few exceptional Knights would learn it. Jedi at that level have been screened for similar qualities to what you describe."

This gets an approving nod. "May I ask how Masters are chosen?"

"By the Council, usually after they have performed some feat demonstrating that they possess the appropriate qualities."

Hmh. File that one under 'ask Ana and/or Bar', then.

"I myself was appointed to Master after I rediscovered Tython and the Temple here, shortly after the Battle of Coruscant."

Interesting. Storytime?

"I'm not sure I understand the significance of that."

"Coruscant was the center of the Order for many, many years. The Sith attack there was... devastating. It threw the Jedi into chaos. We needed something new to focus on, to remind us of our purpose. I followed the will of the Force and it brought me to this place, our ancestral homeworld. Here, we are reminded of the past that binds us together as guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy."

The kobold wants to hug Satele. She's not going to, because getting up to do it would mean something different than what she wants to communicate, but she still wants to. She grins, just slightly sadly, and nods, instead.

"Not all elevations are under such dramatic circumstances of course. It is possible for one to simply embody the ideals of the Order in a quiet fashion, gain a reputation as a person of wisdom and insight, and be promoted in due time."

Nod, grin. "That sounds like a good approach." She's impressed that they have that working, in fact; in her experience, other species don't usually pay that much attention to each other, and that's one of the ways she considers kobold culture to be clearly superior.

Satele smiles. "It's worked for us so far."

Grin. "Well, I'm not planning to make a serious effort to answer that question until I've caught up with my tribe and come back - I might be gone for as long as half a season, from my perspective - but that definitely helps, thank you."

"You're welcome. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to aid your decision."

Nod. "I will."

"The last thing I wanted to talk about is the meeting with Occlus; the meeting place is ready, but I want another day to re-center myself before I go tell them that. In the meantime, would you like a more detailed description of what I've seen of them? I can't tell you everything, but I can tell you most things, I know a few things that I suspect you don't that are more than just details."

Satele nods. "Please, share what you know."

Nod. "Would you like the whole story, step by step, or the most important things first?"
