And there is a beach, bordering a pretty little cove, with pebbles underfoot and a sweet smell in the air.

"All over. Uninhabited planets only, though. I'd actually just go back to the place I'm using in my world, but I'm kind of running out, there."

She looks around. "Pretty."

"Running out? How many caves do you have?" Ana looks around. "Smells nice but maybe a little rocky?"

"There's a cave system I've been improving for my tribe, plus my main personal cave and a spare one, so far." She teleports them to another beach, this one made of grey sand beside a cliff and under a bright blue sky.

"I might end up needing to improve another cave system soon, too; so far we've been staying to the one system, but it's really not traditional for kobolds to settle; I wouldn't be surprised if our chief ends up moving us somewhere else one of these years just on general principle." She kneels to examine the sand. "Not bad, but kind of dusty, I think."

"Speaking of moving elsewhere on general principle, I have a bad feeling about that water. We should go. Now-ish."

"Sure."

This teleport finds them on a sandbar, with open ocean on one side and a narrow bay on the other, with marsh beyond that. The kobold looks to Ana for confirmation that they're safe here.

Ana lets out a sigh of relief.

"Oh yes, this is much better. Your magic will probably make any migration you do pretty simple, huh?"

"Simpler, anyway. I haven't been to most of the places we might go, since I got my magic - it's a long trip, and there are other tribes in most of them most of the time. But the rest of the tribe can stay in camp while I go ahead, and then I can go back every few days and make a portal for them to just move everything to the new campsite, and it's quicker than everybody walking the whole way."

While she's talking, she sits and makes a twine portal, from which she retrieves a handful of rings. "Do any of these fit you?"

"Oooh, shiny."

Ana sorts through them, and comes up with two, one of dark polished wood and one silver with a small blue stone.

"I like the wood one better."

"I'll save the other for later, then." The rest go back into the portal, the silver one goes into a belt pouch, and she casts on the wooden one and hands it back. "It occurs to me that if something happened to me out here, you'd be stuck. Now you won't be; that'll teleport anyone who's touching it back to Tython when it's nudged with the Force."

"Cool, thanks! I hope it will not come in handy!"

She chuckles. "I hope so too!"

She runs her fingers through the sand, since she's already sitting. "Hmm. I bet closer to the water this is pretty nice."

"Let's go find out!"

And so they do. The kobold's verdict: Yeah, pretty nice; she could probably find better, but not in the amount of time she wants to spend on it, and she won't regret the choice. She teleports a batch to her cave and notes the spot for later.

"It's still pretty early; want to go to Milliways now anyway, or do something else?"

"I'd like to see this interdimensional bar. Sounds interesting."

"All right," she grins. "I don't think this will come up, but just in case - Milliways gets all kinds of people. Some of them look pretty scary, or threatening, or whatever. They aren't, or if they are it's security's job to handle it - there's always someone on the job who can, that's part of the magic."

"Let Security do their job. Okay. Noted."

Nod. Hand. Milliways!

They appear right next to the bar. It's a little bit crowded - the nearest seats are full of blue-skinned bat-winged people - but not so much so that they have trouble finding someplace to sit. "Hi, Bar, I'm back! This is Ana, one of the Jedi I've been staying with."

Nice to meet you, says the napkin that appears at this.

The variety of sentients is not extraordinary to Ana. It's actually somewhat tame compared to certain Coruscanti dives of her acquaintance.

"Hello, Bar! It is nice to meet you too!"

I assume the kobold has told you all about me. I do take female pronouns, declining to specify is their quirk. Would you like your free drink?

"I'll take a free drink, sure."

A cherry butterscotch milkshake appears. Enjoy.

"I'm going to head up and make sure my room is in order, if you're okay here."

"I'll hang out and watch the crowd."

Milkshake verdict: is good!

The kobold nods, considers, gives Ana a brief hug.

"Bar can get me if you need me, and you can get a meal or something on my tab if you'd like."

And, poof, she's gone.

Ana sits and drinks her milkshake and watches various people conduct various activities.

She turns to face the door when she feels a weighty presence enter.
