"I don't think you'll have to be busy unless you want to be busy."

"...was this trying to turn into a situation where I was waiting for the Council to come talk to me and the Council was waiting for me to go talk to them? Or I guess the better question is, how do people figure out when to talk to each other, here? It seemed like my usual approach was working okay..."

"Master Satele said you wanted to get to know the Jedi? I don't think she like, an agenda for that, though she'd probably make one if you asked. I think the Council just would have called on you in a couple days if you didn't visit them first."

Hm. "All right. I think I'll finish enspelling this place, and then we can head back; I'll take care of the floor tomorrow one way or the other. Actually, have you been to Coruscant before? I don't want to put a portal from the Academy here without that, and I don't think the spot I have is a very good one for this. I can do everything else, though," she says, stepping into the alcove.

"Yeah, I have. There's a spot at the base of the old temple that should work. Close to a taxi stand but far from anything important."

"Sounds good."

Spell! "Okay, so to go up to the forest, you touch here," she shows Ana where she's used her magic to engrave a little stylized tree on the wall of the alcove, and then touches it and disappears.

That's intuitive. Ana goes over and touches the tree.

And there's the forest! The kobold is headed toward a (real) tree, which she touches, and then she trances.

After the fourth tree - "I'm making air portals; I'll add some from other places too before I spend a night here" - she holds out her hand to Ana. "Coruscant?"

"Coruscant!" Hand.

Coruscant!

The kobold continues to hate crowds. Or rather, to be deeply overwhelmed and more than a little afraid of them. Ana can lead.

Oh no overwhelmed kobold! Ana will quickly locate a taxi that will take them to the ruins of the temple.

It's much quieter there.

Ana is A Good. The kobold approves.

There really isn't a reason not to have the portal let out right by the taxi stand, right?

Not really, no.

If there's another place that'd make more sense to have some confused lost person appear, the kobold is open to suggestions.

In either case, once the destination is decided: Back to the cave; portal; back to the Academy room; portal again. With the second one done, she explains: "This one is a little unusual in a few ways. I've set it to stop working after a season, for one thing; I'll put in another one when I know I'll be here working with you for longer than that. It's also set up to be kind of fragile - it's attached, in a way, to the furniture; if any of that is moved, the spell will break. And it's sensitive to force use; to open it, you have to use the force, here where it can see you - any kind of way counts, I don't know enough about specific kinds of uses yet to make a spell look for them - and then it'll stay open until there's no more force users here. Does that sound reasonable?"

"Yeah, I'll tell Master Balros to make sure the cleaning droids don't bump the furniture. How long is a season?"

"Ninety twenty-four hour days."

"About three months, then. Okay. I should probably go get something to eat now, want to join me?"

"Sure!"

To the cafeteria! Ana loads her tray up with some of everything on offer. It flexes slightly, under the load.

The kobold follows her through the line, after checking that this appears to be okay, and takes little bits of various things that seem interesting - not enough to make a full meal.

When they get to the table, she uses a length of string to make a portal, reaches into it, looks distracted for a few seconds, and then pulls out a small pumpkin - reasonably single-serving sized. She then pulls another, tiny one out and adds it to Ana's tray with a grin before opening her own to reveal that it's full of a sweet-and-savory stew.

Ooo strange magic food! Ana tries her pumpkin soup first.

"Mmmm this is really good thanks!"

"You're welcome," she grins, and starts eating.

While she eats, she keeps an eye on the room. Anyone interesting here?

There are lots of people! Ana waves at a few but doesn't invite anyone over.

The kobold nods friendly acknowledgement to any of the waved-at people who seem curious about her.

When she gets to the end of her meal, she scans the room again and asks Ana, "Do you think anyone would be interested in seeing the new world? Or a demonstration of my magic? I could make some small things for people."

"I bet lots of people would like to see that world! What sorts of magic things can you make?"
