The incoming anomaly is redirected to LeafSong University's second most powerful Summonarium, a huge stone and wood chamber full of elaborate ritual circles and standing steles covered in writing, and a certain professor is summoned with considerable urgency. Though they'll take a good couple of minutes to arrive.

And a shocked college junior appears in a crackle of blue starlight. She wears a soft blue dress and matching earrings.

HOLY SHIT DID WE JUST TELEPORT

Well, yes?

Hazel looks around at the obvious runic circles and the floating stones.

We just got summoned, I think.

Just stay calm, everything will be fine. Clearly there has been some form of magical accident. If it's rectifyable then this will be a mere blip. If it's not, then, well, it's a whole new world to explore. With magic.

I think we have a new sense! Check this out!

Cherry pokes the new obvious primitive action in their collective head!

And something HAMMERS into their mind, infusing them with a whole new sense.

Geomancy (World of Darkness - Mortal) 100 The art of geomancy(known as feng shui in the East)is the study of harmonizing the physical environment with the flow of energy. The goal of feng-shui is to create the ideal place to live or work. Through a combination of architectural design and mystic mathematics, a geomancer plans a pattern that must be duplicated within the entire structure (in the case of a building)or the layout of a room or series of connected rooms (in the case of interior design). Implementing this design increases the time required and the cost of the work involved, but practitioners consider it well worth the effort. When designing a geomancy effect, the thaumaturge chooses a single Attribute or Skill to be the focus. Once assigned, the Trait cannot be changed without completely redesigning the location. Attribute-based designs are more difficult to create than Skill-based ones. The selected Trait must reflect the building or space's function. For example, a library might enhance academic or research skills. If the thaumaturge is successful, she creates a unique design that benefits those who use the location in the manner for which it was created, provided that the design is followed perfectly. If the thaumaturge creates her geomancy design successfully, and the architect or interior designer successfully integrates the design into the physical location, the flow of energy is modified within the space. Any action that takes place in the space using the designated Attribute or Skill may gain a bonus. Once a geomantic design is created and implemented, it remains in effect indefinitely unless something happens to disrupt or change the flow of energy. Natural disasters may change the magical landscape more than they appear to affect it physically, requiring geomantic designs to be realigned. New construction or destruction of buildings or even spaces within a building may require that a thaumaturge reassess the location for potential updates. Poorly designed geomantic locations may disrupt those around them, as well. The only limits on the number of designs a geomancer may create are her time, her capability and the ability of others to come up with the resources to put her designs into place.

Don't you girls get it, we're the summoned heroine!

... Cherry jumping to conclusions as always. Well.

There's an obvious next step to take.

She walks toward the edge of the magic circle.

Nothing stops her from approaching the edge of the wide, mutli-layered circle. There must be thousands of different shapes and glyphs that make it up, in all colors of the rainbow. It's extremely dense and elaborate.

There's an invisible barrier at the edge of it. She notices it a moment before she would run into it, though there's nothing to see. If she touches it, it feels like smooth, cool glass, pushing back just as hard as she pushes forward.

Also, the geomancy of this place is both really overblown and kind of obvious. Everything from the wide walkways to the way the different circles are laid out (she is in the central and largest one, but there are dozens)... This room already has some feng shui, and it's about travelling. Preparing for a journey, or coming to the end of one.

Someone peeks around the corner of one of the doorways for a moment, a flash of a huge forehead and purple hair before they duck out of sight again. It sounds like they're running away.

Well that's a problem, isn't it.

"HELLO?" Cherry yells at the top of her lungs. "CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME?"

She raps lightly on the barrier, hoping to make a sound.

... Sure, she guesses Cherry can do that.

In burnished gold font on a translucent-brown holographic window in midair:

Language detected: English

Please wait calmly. An authority is on the way: 0m46s

It ticks down as she watches, 45, 44.

See, no need to make a fuss.

Holographic displays, super cool!!!

She sits down and starts to fidget with her hands in her lap. Forty-five seconds is forever.

And then a wizard arrives, flying up to the entrance at speed. They look a little feminine, perhaps, but so much of their expression is just foreign, unfamiliar robes and unfamiliar accessories and strange posture and body language.

They touch down from a high speed flight in the entrance, the outside of which looks like some sort of jungle, with barely a sound, and stand there warily for a moment.

Then they walk forward and speak in a language she doesn't know, with a translation appearing on the holographic display for her. She(?) bows apologetically.

Ermol Gal-Fair: Greetings, unexpected guest. I'm afraid our hospitality might be a bit lacking today. I would offer you wevvi, but I did not have any at hand when urgently called for. Unfortunate, but the nature of exceptions always merits treating them with seriousness. Are you urgently needing anything?

Quiet down for a minute, Cherry, she's got a conversation to handle.

"I'm confused. I've been... summoned somehow? Was that deliberate? Is this Earth? I don't know what this is -" (she points to the holographic display) "- or how I got here."

The wizard makes a concerned face with a slight frown.

This is not Earth. You are in LeafSong University, on Artona III. The system flagged your arrival as an exception and called me to determine if you are going to turn into a demon. You're not.

A deeper frown.

I also see that you're not integrated with the system? Any Avowed should be, as would any human who managed to. Wait. There was no authorization?

She shakes her head.

It was deliberate in the sense that you were redirected here instead of a random patch of wilderness, but not in the sense that any conscious action made it so that you were in need of redirection... The system is showing a malformed Emergency Ritual of Return.

"I've never been here before, so it seems unlikely that something called a ritual of return would bring me here. I've never heard of Artona or Avowed before either. I'm just glad you've heard of Earth and humans."

The wizard mutters something that the hologram declines to translate.

Then they shake their head.

You're not dangerous, let me take care of that.

They stand in a convergence of geometric patterns at the edge of the big circle and tap on two of the dozen rings resting on their fingers. The barrier goes down. They bow again.

And let it never be said that the hospitality of LeafSong University is lacking. I think your situation may be more complicated than you expect, and the University will be pleased to host you as we discover what went wrong, or to return you to Earth if you wish.

OHMYGOD SHE GETS TO STUDY AT A MAGIC UNIVERSITY JUST LIKE KVOTHE DID

Yes, Cherry, we noticed.

Hazel steps out of the diagram and bows. Probably for the best not to get sent home instantly?

"Thank you," she says. "I guess I'll have a look around. It's not too often that you get a chance to visit another world."

No reason not to see the sights, right girls?

Gosh, Cherry's enthusiasm is infectious even when she's being annoying and difficult.
