After dinner in her studio apartment, Adelaide puts on a blues CD and opens a romance novel. After about an hour, she gets up quietly, turns the music off, brushes her teeth, and puts on pajamas. She's in bed before nine. For the next hour, she tosses and turns, then eventually falls deeply asleep.
AG seems to adjust her smile to try to match. It comes out much more natural looking. "I'll be glad to. I would be happy for feedback if you had it. I don't think I'm the best at facial expressions yet but maybe there are other things I should also be attending to."
Adelaide laughs, startled that AG caught her staring. "Facial expressions can be difficult. I'll... try to give you advice as I can but it's certainly a subconscious thing for most humans including me. Uh, clothes, though... clothes are an expression of your personality and culture, to some extent? So it's odd to see you wearing clothes that I picked out, although I'm sure I'm not the only human who dresses like I do so I shouldn't be bothered by it."
"Interesting, I may consider other clothing at a later point but I don't think it's presently a priority."
"Understood."
She turns back to the forest. "Let's see what this place holds. And you can, uh, pretend you don't already know exactly what this place holds."
"I don't actually have to pretend I don't know all the details of this environment. I just choose it based on your criteria."
"Oh, nice! We can explore then." She sets off in whichever direction is the mossiest.
There's an awful lot of moss in every direction but maybe that way is mossiest it's a little hard to tell.
This particular direction also seems to have fewer tree roots visible and felt underfoot which is another advantage. For the first little while there isn't much to distinguish this path but after a small turn a fallen tree utterly covered in moss and with an exposed root system comes into view.
Adelaide walks up to the tree and traces her hand along some of the root system. "Cool."
AG matches her actions. "Hmm, I wonder how close what I experience like this is to your actual experience. Doubtlessly quite far. What does it feel like for you?"
