"You want proof?"

"What I want," she says, "is my orb."

"Just so you can sell it to Tivan?"

"Obviously."

"It's a weapon of some kind. I don't know I want it in the hands of the Tivan Group."

"Feel free to outbid."

"How much did Tivan bid?"

"Four billion."

The weird cat does a spit take! 

"Four fucking billion?!?? What the actual fuck did you steal?"

The thief girl has the expression of someone doing a lot of math very quickly. 

"Something small enough to get away with if someone hadn't started shooting people."

She finishes doing her math. "You'd already been caught. And, also, Tivan is dramatically underbidding."

"You don't run faster than I do. And again, unless you want to offer more..."

"Depends on if the person paying Ronan to fetch that orb thinks to lock me out of the bank accounts before the next time I'm at a terminal."

" - Ronan can be bought?"

"Where do you think he's getting the funding for his army?"

"Seems like a bit of a long shot."

"Anyways... I have a new idea." To Ash: "Me and Chewie break you out - and tell you who's posting bounties on you - and you give us a cut of your sale."

"That sounds fair."

"Pleasure doing business." She leans back. "My name's Rocket. This here's Chewie." She nods to the muzzled Perfectly Normal House Cat. 

"Call me Ash."

"So what's with the uh, talking and tentacles? Respectively."

"I learned to talk as a kid, same as most people," she says with a shrug. "Chewie here's a flerken - we don't think I'm one even though I look like it, they've got these extradimensional stomachs and mine's just normal. The tentacles are how flerken hunt."

"Freaky."

"Most people are terrified of them," she says, smugly.
