Is there any piece of clothing, cloth or footwear around that they can see? Walking around a tomb is one of the few situations where Gav prefers being clothed.

Most of the torches seem to mostly be firmly attached to the walls but if they look they can find one that's reasonably easy to pull off. Or they can just use Gav's strength, that works too.

The magic jewellery seems mostly safe? It's unclear what exactly they do, they don't super have an analogue Herod is familiar with. They interface with the mind? Sometimes the body? They don't have the big blob of magic that interacts with everything else that the corpses did though.

And as for clothing, there are rotten scraps of fabric? They can probably string those together to make loincloths or fundoshi if they try.

They indeed can use Gav's strength! That is a thing they can do.

Gav will collect scraps of fabric, but wait before making anything out of it. Maybe they'll come across something less rotten.

Herod ends up using a largeish scrap as a improvised pouch for the jewelry. Then when they next take a pause, Herod inspects the collection to pick one that looks the safest, or at least his best guess for safety.

Then Gav puts it on.

The ring doesn't feel like anything immediately noticeable.

As for fabric, there really isn't anything not rotten; these ruins are at minimum several centuries old, maybe more, and fabric that hasn't been treated for it just doesn't last that long.

What they do come across though is more zombies.

Well, at least they don't have to amputate Gav's pinky finger (he removes the blade ready just for that, but keeps the ring in place).

Since the goal is to not get rotten things in contact with their skin, they are going to wait a bit, maybe find a water source or whatever.

The undead don't really liven up the place.

It is getting annoying. In the back of his mind, Herod is also confused by how people spent whatever resources to build whatever this place is.

They hear voices.

Herod signals for Gav to stop. Which direction are the voices coming from? That way? They will move quietly and pay attention to the possible conversation.

"...must have been hastily set up during the attack. I can't imagine they'd just have been lying around like this."

"Ancient Nords were fond of traps, especially in their catacombs."

"Were they looking to fill the place up, then? Add some more corpses to their piles?"

"Did they set this up during the diplomatic meeting? Is that what they are saying?" Herod whispers.

"They sound too calm for people that are expecting prisoners to show up to their creepy catacomb."

"...Let us hear just a bit more before approaching?"
