Liam spends an hour or so delightedly sketching and filming various animals, while keeping out of the way as much as possible. 

Rowan finds a quiet corner and sits there with a book rather than get out homework, but can occasionally be persuaded to come and coo over a particularly cute fluffy thing. 

Eventually, the alarm on Liam's phone goes off, and his face falls. 

"Do you have to leave? I could- walk with you, I was going home soon anyway." 

"Yeah, we should head back now," Liam says, already starting to pack up his things with practiced efficiency. Rowan closes her book and slides it into her backpack.

"Sure, you can walk with us - assuming you won't get in trouble for leaving early?"

He thanks Dr. Deaton politely, and heads for the door, collecting Rowan on the way. 

"No, he's cool. Which way are you guys?"

"Uh - " Liam hasn't memorised the way home from everywhere yet; it's slightly nerve-wracking.

Rowan rolls her eyes and indicates the correct direction. She's always had a better sense of direction than her brother, and also made a point of remembering the route they took to get here. Plus, she looked up the clinic's location last night and found the best route home from here. 

"This way isn't too bad. It might take a while to walk around the construction site, though."

Rowan shrugs and starts walking, not bothering to comment.

Liam checks the time.

"How long a while?" he asks. 

"Not more than half an hour. We probably shouldn't go through the construction site, it's- not actually a construction site anymore, they abandoned it, but everything is still there. I don't think we're allowed."

He probably shouldn't want to go through the construction site, but he's kind of on a roll of doing things he isn't, technically, allowed to do, and it's fun. 

"We can decide when we get there," he says out loud. "Right?"

He'll have a better idea of how dangerous it is once he sees it for himself. He won't risk endangering Rowan just to get home a bit faster, but if it looks safe...

"Sure."

They walk, and Scott tries to talk to Rowan about the animals.

Were there any she liked?

"I liked the cats, I think?" is the most positive she's inclined to be about any of the animals.

"Dogs are too...loud? Emotional? Too something."

"I guess they can ask a lot of you."

It looks like they're not alone.

"Liam, Rowan, how are you guys?"

Rowan smiles and waves hello to Callie and Allison.

She lets Liam do the talking for both of them, though, as usual.

Liam is in a cheerful mood, still.

"Hi Allison, hi Callie! We're doing pretty good. You?"

"Not bad. We were trying to figure out how to get home, since Matt and Danny abandoned us, but Stiles and David ran into the construction site, so we're going that way."

"That was probably more than you needed to know. We should get going."

"They went into the construction site?" he repeats.

"And you're planning on following them? Is it safe?"

"We'll be fine, it's not that scary."

"We can go with you."

They're close enough to get a look at the construction site now.

"I'd like to get a better look at some of the equipment," Rowan says. "It doesn't sound too dangerous."

Liam frowns.

"I guess it'll get us home faster..." 

He squints across the site, looking for potential hazards. 

There isn't mugh unattended equipment, but bits of wall and broken glass do impede them somewhat.

Stiles and David are already there, nestled just behind a chunk of wall.
