A couple of days later, Dear Kind Sweetness wants to talk to him in private.

He diligently obeys.

"Hello, my dear Human," she says, holding out her arms for a hug.

Hug.

Unhug.

"I understand your little... human friend... wants to come to the court?"

"Yes, she mentioned that and didn't express a change of mind since the last time I met her."

"Did she explain why?"

"No, not really." As in, Kaede did not say why she didn't change her mind about visiting the court. That was not what Dear Kind Sweetness was asking, but the flow of conversation left it ambiguous. "I know that she is just curious in general."

"Hmm. So I see."

Shrug.

She hmms for a second then says, "I believe we can offer her an invitation, yes."

Smile. "I am sure she would be delighted."

"Does she have time constraints?"

"To visit a fairy court? None at all."

She purses her lips, but her eyes glint with approval and some smugness. Fairies are nothing if not vain. "Very well. I will send her a messenger."
